Was noticing that in most upscale communities that street blades are often suspended from a pole or even small mast arm from the poles.

This here is in Millburn, NJ.using fancy curly mast arms to support the blades.

Then this one in nearby Union, NJ even gets more elegant.

I thought I would dedicate a thread to these type of street signs.
Every day is a winding road, you just got to get used to it.

Check out this example for an entrance to a neighborhood in North Oaks, MN. Street blades supported by a mini wooden truss. I haven't actually been inside any neighborhood in this city (and Google Street View seems to have trouble as well) but just by looking along the city's border, this seems to be the standard for this small upscale suburb.

Dang the street blades in New Jersey look like a house for sale sign at first.

Just pointing out what most of us already know:  Signs like this fail to comply with the MUTCD standards for
1. Sign reflectivity
2. Font
3. Often, the colors used.

They are pretentious, useless in the nighttime hours, and deserving of abomination. :bigass:

Highway Gothic or Clearview would have to be the font of the street sign. Size of the sign has to be MUTCD standards too.
