Lowest-numbered route you haven't been on

Mine's just 4. I've been on US 1, PA 3, and I'm pretty sure a short piece of DE 2, but not any of the Route 4s in any state I've been to. The same goes for 5.
Mileage-based exit numbering implies the existence of mileage-cringe exit numbering.

Update:

QuoteThe lowest number I haven't been on or crossed is 24, which is surprising since MA 24 is a freeway.

I've now been on MA 24. Now, the lowest number I haven't been on or crossed is 36, thanks to US 29 in Atlanta and NY 34 in Ithaca, NY. (My "haven't been on" answer of 14 remains unchanged.)

36 will be a bit of a hard one to get, as MA 36 is short and out of the way for most places, and there is no other 36 in New England. Interestingly, MA 36 ends at MA 14, so maybe I could update both lists at the same time if there's any reason to go that way (maybe a cranberry bog tour).

NY 14 is pretty close to Ithaca; only a short hop down NY 79.

1: Never driven a 1, but I've driven past the northern terminus of IA-1 and the eastern of MN-1.
2: I've driven good chunks of US-2 in Michigan and Wisconsin.
3: Again, I've driven past the eastern terminus of IA-3 but never driven a 3.
4: The majority of I-4 in Florida.
5: Tiny part of MN-5 in downtown St. Paul.
6: Most of US-6 in Colorado, along with its Interstate concurrences in Nebraska and Iowa.
7: Nothing.
8: Parts of US-8 in Wisconsin.
9: Nothing.
10: Parts of US-10 in Wisconsin and Minnesota.
11: Part of WI-11.
12: Most of US-12 in Wisconsin.
13: Part of WI-13.
14: All of US-14 in WI save for the westernmost few miles.
15: Crossed WI-15 on I-41, but never driven a 15.
16: Lots of WI-16.
17: Parts of WI-17.
18: Quite a bit of US-18 in Wisconsin.
19: Clinched WI-19.
20: Part of US-20 in Illinois.
I could go on, but save for the first ten numbers, I have most of them up to 100.

Looks like 103 to me.  Can't confirm if I drove on the concurrency with VT 100 or not.

Got 102 in Maine :D.  NY 103 is quite nearby;  I'll snag it tonight!

After importing my Travel Mapping file into Excel and whipping up a few formulas and sorting ...
I thought it would be higher (and mildly surprised that there are a few "holes" in my list) ...

Lowest number haven't been on (USA) - 35 nor 39    - but I have been on Iceland's 35 and 39
Lowest current number haven't been on (anywhere) - 46     - but I have driven MD 46 before it was decommissioned
Lowest number haven't been on (anywhere) - 47
Other low-ish numbers under 60 - 48, 53, 54

May have to look harder for any roads I may have missed - or plan a road trip to get these stragglers.

EDITED (4/28/2019 afternoon) - found some minor concurrencies I missed.
EDITED (4/28/2019 evening) - found more that I missed.

If you find yourself in southeastern MA you can grab MA 106.

Thanks.  Still, I have more than enough travel goals as is without adding "touch a route of every number" to the list -- especially with how long I'd probably have to spend in Kentucky or Virginia to do so. :D

There was a related discussion in chat a few weeks ago where I determined the lowest number I have not clinched any routes with is 202 (I still need to finish US 202...)

The lowest route number I have not traveled any segment of at all appears to be 245 (caveat: this does not include unsigned routes or county routes - I don't know if this would hold including those as I'm just not keeping track of such things).

If you always take the same road, you will never see anything new.

1 is the lowest I haven't been on as OR and WA 1 don't exist, and the other states I don't spend nearly enough time to pay attention. Unless you want to count going to the sun road as Glacier Route 1.

You've been on ORH 1.

For me, counting both ones I've driven and ones where I've been a passenger, it'd be 7.  There's plenty of Highway 7s around me--Oregon has one, as do Washington, Idaho, and California (and Nevada used to have one pre-US 93), but the closest I've come is passing by WA-7.  I have a few other low numbers (9, 13, 15-17) that are also on the list. I'm actually shockingly well-traveled on highways up in the 200s, in large part due to Oregon's numbering scheme, but that extends elsewhere as well.

I'm pretty sure you've been on ORH 7 ;)

For me, it's 102, but by current designations, it's 49, as the only Highway 49 I've ever been on is MN 49, but that was when I was a kid and MN 49 has been gone for a while now.
I have been on a current 49. In fact, I was on 2 on the same road trip. I was on IL 49 in Casey, IL (probably only to get gas) and OH 49 in Greenville, OH on my 2002 trip to Ohio and Michigan.

Does I-H1 count?  If not, then I-5.

Well, it can be any road or route numbered 1, 2, 3, and so forth and so on.

KEVIN_224

I've been near I-4 in downtown Tampa. The lowest numbered interstate I have been on is a piece of I-24 in Nashville (when it was with I-40).

I would guess yes for KEVIN_224.

Skye has probably been on routes numbered 2, 3, and 4 without explicitly mentioning it, with 1 being arguable.

I apologize for the confusion. Since CT doesn't duplicate state route numbers with US and interstate numbers, the lowest for me in-state would be CT Route 11, which starts at CT Route 2 in Colchester.

US 1
CT 2
CT 3
CT 4
US 5
US 6
US 7
CT 8
CT 9
CT 10...

Yes...CT Route 11. I may have been on CT Route 12 in the New London area. I've definitely been on pieces of MA and NH Route 12, which I think are connected to ours as an old New England "interstate".

Evan_Th

For me I'm pretty sure it's 14.

I've been on:
US 1 (primarily in North Carolina, and several other places up to New York State)
US 2 (in Washington State)
Oswego Highway No. 3 (Macadam Ave, Portland, OR)
Charlotte Route 4 (Billy Graham Pkwy, Charlotte, NC)
I-5 (all the way from Canada south to Salem, OR; and again from Los Angeles south to San Diego)
US 6 (Scranton, PA)
WA 7 (Pacific Ave, Tacoma)
NC 8 (north of Winston-Salem)
NC 9 (Black Mountain, NC)
I-10 (Los Angeles, CA)
US 11 (New York State)
NC 12 (Kitty Hawk)
NY 13 (in Ithaca)

I've crossed US 14, WV 14, and WA 14, but I've never been on any of them or any other Highway 14.

Finrod

It's likely 2 for me.  I was on US 1 briefly one time in New Hampshire; but US 2 is further north than I've been and I-2 is further south than I've been, and I don't recall a state road 2 that I've been on.

Been on US 1 and California SR 1 (every Californian has to have been on it AT LEAST ONCE). Been on CA SR 2 (not Glendale Fwy section). So that would be 3, for me. Been on Interstate 4 and 5, and so on.
Are spurs of spurs of spurs of loops of spurs of loops a thing? ;)

I've never been on Route 3 either in any form out here, so that was also my thought for lowest numbered state route I have yet to go to.

Lowest numbered US route I have never gone on is US 2.  Lowest numbered Interstate would be the aforementioned I-4.

After much pondering and checking, 107 is the lowest number for me.
