Don't want to be a downer, but this has definitely already been done.

Holy crap, was it really? I feel like it was much more recent than that.

Edit: meh, screw it. I'll embrace it. :D

Here's one of St. Louis County, MN's highest-numbered county roads. CR-995 (W Cord Rd), off of MN-33, taken July 19th this year.

Certainly possible we've already done it more than once.  I didn't search thoroughly.  The one on January 3 was just the second day of this thread's existence, so the second daily challenge posted.

Definitely, but eh, I'm not going to challenge it. I just posted a response anyway (in my above post). :)

Usually, county routes in Hawaii are signed just like state routes (something that confuses people, especially the ones trying to properly direct their complaints about road conditions). All the exceptions are for Maui County routes on Maui island.

Bloated mutations of the standard state shield, which thankfully are disappearing:

"Color-reverse" versions of the state shield, a much more attractive way to distinguish county from state markers, but alas have been out of use for many years:

Finally, a bland square marker, at the west end of the disconnected county segment of the Pi'ilani Highway through southeast Maui:

Lassen County signage on Red Rock Rd. on the Nevada-California border near Hallelujah Junction, CA via GSV. (The photo from my collection is on a broken external drive  :-/ )

The county I live in, Washington County in Oregon, rarely posts their road numbers, but a couple of these still exist in the wild:

^ Taken February 11, 2015 on SW Bull Mountain Rd. at SW 150th Ave. in Tigard. I don't think it's there anymore, though.

One of my favorites uses the political boundaries of the county.  This is in the southeast corner of Utah.

And of course, there's always Wisconsin.  This was taken in Sister Bay, in Door County.

I just drove across Wisconsin and Minnesota today for the first time, which is great for this challenge!

My home province has lots to choose from, since none of our counties use the "standard" pentagon, so let's go with Huron CR 17.

For Wisconsin, there's this "HA" junction sign in Iron River on US 2

For Minnesota, here's a St. Louis CR 848 shield on US 2 near Brookston

November 19, 2017: Today is the 25th anniversary of the first airing of the "Mr. Plow" episode on The Simpsons.  Post pictures of signs related to snow plowing.

My first is at the Yukon/Alaska border on the Klondike Highway.  June 23, 2001.

And a couple of zoomed/cropped closeups from that image:

Next, from US 6 near Brush, Colorado.  November 16, 2013.

And last, US 40 near Park City, Utah.  January 21, 2006.

Does an assembly on my wall count? Here's one of each using three Twin Cities routes:

Otherwise here's one on an interchange to I-380/US-218/IA-27 in North Liberty.

I think this one is also a repeat, where it was further specified "exactly one of each".
Clinched, minus I-93 (I'm missing a few miles and my file is incorrect)

Traveled, plus US 13, 44, and 50, and several state routes

I will be in Burlington VT for the eclipse.

Since no one else has posted today's challenge, here's an idea for one I thought of the other day.

QuoteNovember 21, 2017: The Beatles Anthology was released 22 years ago today. Post photos of road signs that relate to the Beatles or their songs in some way.

Hopefully this one will be good.

Edit: If you reference an obscure song or lyric, I encourage you to link to that song or lyric.

If the Interstate system didn't skip any numbers, then this would be the One after 909.

I believe part of Bus I-90 in New Orleans was to be signed I-910, but LADOTD never went ahead.
Supporter of the construction of several running gags, including I-366 with a speed limit of 85 mph (137 km/h) and the Hypotenuse.

Please note that I may mention "invalid" FM channels, i.e. ending in an even number or down to 87.5. These are valid in Europe.

They sure have a funny way of saying "please" in Massachusetts...

These signs are placed on Interstates and freeways at the beginning of bridges.  They are directed at plow operators to remind them to raise their blades slightly so they don't impact the deck ends.  As MassDOT relies heavily on private contractors for snow plowing, it was decided that a text sign would be more effective than a marker.
