That doesn't seem to match any definition of "unique". The two definitions I'm familiar are:

1. Only one exists.
2. Interesting/unusual.

The picture you linked to appears to include a restaurant sign, a street blade, a construction zone sign. reflectors, and a book.  Which one of those things can a person not take a picture of in ordinary circumstances?

I'm not sure how to answer this one, so I'll go with a reversed image of a sign taken from my driver's side mirror:

While far from "cannot", one does have to be stuck in traffic or waiting at a light to do this. In 6 years on these boards, I have yet to see anyone else post a photo like this.

Here's the reversed-reversed image of the same sign:

I consider this unique, as I've never seen this style of "Lane Ends" sign anywhere else in Indiana. I-70 westbound near the Indianapolis International Airport:

Ok, well the street blade is custom made, the reflectors are... not unique in that sense, but they are mine, (yay!), the restaurant is out of buisness, they were the best texmex place ever, that, is one of the only signs still in existence, only one company (Action Safety, the one I toured) made the “My Daddy Works Here” sign, it is out of service because of a gender issue, did you not scroll down, there is a NEW(!) BGSs, with a 4 ft road work ahead sign on it for scale, and last, but DEFINITELY not least... that “book” is my personal copy of the MUTCD, section 1, 5, and 6. Tell me with a straight face that that is just a “book”. Are we not on AARoads right now?

Also, here is the MUTCD you were referring too:

I opened a separate copy of Google Maps and went to Exit 156 on I-94 in North Dakota, and then went into Street View. The URL contains the coordinates and heading, while pitch and FOV were by trial and error. (The URL probably contains pitch, but I didn't check.)

This might be the best use of a Daily Challenge yet!

Quote
November 19, 2017: Today is the 25th anniversary of the first airing of the "Mr. Plow" episode on The Simpsons.  Post pictures of signs related to snow plowing.
They sure have a funny way of saying "please" in Massachusetts...

These signs are placed on Interstates and freeways at the beginning of bridges.  They are directed at plow operators to remind them to raise their blades slightly so they don't impact the deck ends.  As MassDOT relies heavily on private contractors for snow plowing, it was decided that a text sign would be more effective than a marker.

My understanding was that they are to prevent "snow overs" --i.e. the pushing of snow over the bridge onto cars and/or pedestrians below

I actually cannot begin to describe how amazingly awesome those unique road pictures are!  :spin:   :hyper:

Strangely, since I am such a heavy taker of road photos (and videos), I actually am pretty certain that I have at least a few of those kinds of road pictures in my collection, but I don't know where they are at the moment, and even if I do find them, I know for a fact that they couldn't possibly compare to both of yours!  :wow:   :-D

Being as I live much closer to Scotland than anyone else on this forum I feel I should take a photo from the actual country than one from overseas with a Scottish name

Here goes. Forth Road Bridge approach just north of Edinburgh during work to provide an additional lane.

Same spot a year later and the extra lane has really made a difference :banghead:
