G.R. Van has proposed a Kansas City meet on May 22.

The MTR message is not archived in Google Groups yet, but the message ID is 23a16930-13a2-4bce-a56b-417c88a763c7@k18g2000prf.googlegroups.com in case anyone wants to look up the details later.

Here's the text of what he proposes:

In case there may be some with open weekends and are willing to give
it a shot...looking at hosting a meet in Kansas City on 22 May (Sat).

Sights to check out...
US71/MO150 interchange construction progress
MO150 expansion project between Grandview and Lee's Summit
IH470 exit 7 area (exit 7C for Pryor and Blue)
KC's Bridge to Nowhere near IH70 and Benton
Paseo Bridge replacement progress (found a potential place to park)
1st Street tour
Broadway Bridge view
12th Street Viaduct
Check re-routing of US 169 in Johnson County
Overland Parkway expansion project

As an added bonus...that night Dread Zeppelin will be in concert in
case attendees are also music geeks. Hence the date choice.

Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.

As much as I'd like to make it, I'll have to work, with it being a Saturday.

I have no idea where I'll be May 22nd, but if I'm in Laramie then I'll definitely be there- KC is a very easy drive

Looks like it's on for May 22 in KC.

Since I heard of 3 probable attendees, the KC meet I proposed is on!

Time: as of now, 10AM, possibly adjustable.

Location: TBD depending on meet time.

Lunch location: Jack Stack BBQ at 135th and Holmes.

Some of the sites: US71 at MO150, IH470 exit 7 and exit 11
construction, Paseo Bridge.

Myself, it's 80-20 that I won't be going to this one. A scarcity of vacation days is the primary culprit, and I've already delegated several of them to other trips/meets.

Peace to you, and... don't drive like my brother.
