I'll take the Avs and the Lightning.

Nailed it.

Avs in 6.

Changing my mind. Avs in 5.

Should have stuck to my guns. Cale Makar is going to go down as one of the greatest defensemen in history.

Well, the Lightning wasn't alive for long, the Avs won the 2022 Stanley Cup championship.
Third one ever (1996, 2001, 2022), so now they have as many Stanley Cups as the Denver Broncos do Lombardi Trophies. I know my brother Jeff is happy for them.

Actually, it's the franchise's 4th championship, if you count the 1977 Avco Cup won by Le Quebec Nordiques.
Interstates I've clinched: 97, 290 (MA), 291 (CT), 291 (MA), 293, 295 (DE-NJ-PA), 295 (RI-MA), 384, 391, 395 (CT-MA), 395 (MD), 495 (DE), 610 (LA), 684, 691, 695 (MD), 695 (NY), 795 (MD)

You can't say that Tampa Bay has bad luck as they won two out of three Consecutive Stanley Cup Finals.

Better than the Bills in the NFL. Four consecutive Super Bowls and no wins.
Every day is a winding road, you just got to get used to it.

Now then you mention it I wonder if Corey Perry bring a curse or a jinx? In the 2019-20 season he played with the Dallas Stars who lost against Tampa. The following season he played with the Montreal Canadiens who lost against Tampa. Corey Perry is with Tampa this season...who lost against the Colorado Avalanche!

Billy F 1988

It can only become a curse if it happens more than once. I'm gonna assume that this is nothing more than a case of a player who is good, but gets snake bit in games when they count the most. Nothing but a jinx for now, but if Perry stays and this happens more than once, it could become a curse that the Lightning may need to call upon their mythological hockey gods to oust straight away.
Finally upgraded to Expressway after, what, seven or so years on this forum? Took a dadgum while, but, I made it!

Perry's a UFA as well for the Bolts, so they might not resign him considering they have to resign Palat. Will have to see how they maneuver between the Draft and free agency next month.

This is kind of wacky:

September 25:  Columbus Blue Jackets @ Pittsburgh Penguins, 1 p.m., then Pittsburgh Penguins @ Columbus Blue Jackets, 7 p.m.

Some kind of split squad?  I can't see the teams finishing the first game by 3:30 then taking the bus to Columbus for another game.

Columbus hasn't had Amtrak service since before I was born.
Please, don't sue Alex & Andy over what I wrote above

I just happened to notice that of the three hockey games played yesterday, all of them finished with a score of 4-3. Do any of you happen to know the record for most games with the same final score in one day, and when it might have happened?

That was pretty cool.

You couldn't make [most] of that movie nowadays.
I don't have opinions anymore. All I know is that no one is better than anyone else, and everyone is the best at everything

He's the 4rd Bruins to reach that milestone after Johnny Bucyk, Phil Esposito and Raymond Bourque.

We lost another hockey legend, Borje Salming who was defensman for the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1970s and 1980s.

And now it's the turn of Steven Stamkos to be a member of the 1000 points club and he's also close to enter the 500 goals club.

We were at the game Friday night when Ovechkin passed Gordie Howe with goal number 802. Fun night, and the Jets players showed great class by lining up after the game to shake his hand.

I'll be watching him live Tuesday when Tampa is at Chicago. Would be amazing if he hit 500 at that game
