Quote from: cowboy_wilhelm on April 22, 2024, 10:19:47 PMI agree... I can understand the ramps for redundancy, but 2 lane flyovers seem a bit excessive. Well... at least they will never be congested!Quote from: ARMOURERERIC on April 11, 2024, 08:37:28 PMI don't get the need for full access at all 3 interchanges.
I was wondering this as well. Who is going from I-40 westbound to I-74 westbound or eastbound, or I-74 (either direction) to I-40 EB? There are no plans to continue the beltway south/west, right? Seems like a massive interchange for very little traffic.

Here is a cool road geek page on the history of LA Area street names. Yes its like gribblenation but for local streets.

Not that US doesn't use those - $10 and 20 have some metallic-looking print in the corner (sorry, no larger bills on me right now). But they don't catch the eye at a first glance.
Quote from: The Ghostbuster on April 22, 2024, 09:45:35 PMI would have preferred the frontage roads to have been one-way, although that might be a minority opinion. One-way frontage roads would have followed the dominant flow of traffic, and I think that would have made the frontage roads safer for traffic (and pedestrians if there are any).Eh, that's questionable. With ramps being separated from the frontage roads, you'd have less traffic on there to begin with, only vehicles accessing businesses on that stretch. And likely slower speeds as well.
Quote from: The Ghostbuster on April 22, 2024, 10:03:58 PMThat is probably why US 466's eastern terminus was at Kingman, AZ instead of Barstow, CA. Since US 66 and US 466 just missed each other, it would have been impractical to end 466 in Barstow.Yeah, it would have been really rough to route US-466 over the bridge in Barstow.
