I've noticed that lately, more gum makers and consumers are acting like bubble gum is just a flavor, and not a measure of the gum's suitability for blowing bubbles.

But to be serious, the only kind of gum I really chew is mint-flavored - I've actually never been much into bubble gum or fruit-flavored gum. I love mint gum.

Actually...not just mint now that I think about it. Still mostly mint gum, but sometimes I will also chew cinnamon gum. But those two kinds of gum are pretty much all I really chew.

What's the point of chewing gum if you don't blow bubbles?

Probably the reason I'm not into bubble gum is because I have never physically succeeded in being able to blow bubbles with it. I think I've chewed that type of gum itself before, but I've never blown a bubble. I also fail miserably at succeeding in physically doing other things such as whistling.

But to answer the question, apparently both mint gum and cinnamon gum (especially the latter) relieve some symptoms of acid reflux (which I have), including nausea. That especially, but also combined with the fact that those kinds of gum (maybe all kinds, but I don't know) can make you more alert (and I am always fatigued), is why I chew those kinds exclusively. Also, I like those flavors a lot. Similarly, I only like brushing my teeth with mint toothpaste. That is what I will even request at the dentist office. I absolutely cannot stand any other flavor of toothpaste when brushing my teeth.



EDIT: just to clarify, yes, I am the one person (as of now) who voted mint flavored in the poll..
