I'm curious about certain aspects of this project.  Apparently they've completed Phase 2.  They are working on section 1A right now I think.  For section 1B, it looks like Nicholasville Road will go over the Bypass with a SPUI interchange.  Is there another bridge where Nicholasville Road goes over Bakers Ln as well?  Kind of hard to tell with the map that is presented whether it will be at grade or separated.

Also, when is section 1B supposed to start?

Did notice on the planning site that the I-75 connector east from the Bypass to KY 627/I-75 is still marked, even though the actual website for that project has been gone for several years.  Is this still in KYTC's long-range proposals?

When it gets finished the eastern bypass will 100% be my preferred route through Nicolasville. The last few times I went up to Lexington I went through there and it was nice not having to stop for lights or be in traffic from Edgewood all the way into Lexington.

I've seen where people have contacted the Transportation Cabinet and they have confirmed it is dead. Not to surprising to me because of the Valley View Ferry. I'm sure the Transportation Cabinet is keeping this plan on the back burner but now I believe they want to connect Brannon Road to Route 418 or Route 169 to Route 418.

This project is kind of baffling. I read the project charter and the purpose of it, but it seems to duplicate what US-27 already does on the westside of town.

Looking at the site planning and construction, all the intersections for this bypass are roundabouts, not limited access overpasses.

If/when development creeps to the east (like it did in the west) this bypass will be choked and lose its stated purpose.

If they think it will redirect commuters to use Tate Creek Road (KY-1981), which is a rural 2 lane highway with a thousand blind spots and hidden driveways, that doesn't seem practical.

Like I said, this is an odd project that should be done by a local authority, not a state highway department.
