Sidenote on XNA. Enplanements continue to grow year over year by double digits. It got a louge that is tiny but services the high end travel credit card holders. It was tiny because it's not that much space in the current airside terminal. I imagine gate expansion fixes that. Theyxhavmve been hush hush on new gates recently but they wanted over 20 before covid hit

The satellite image panel ends right where the AR-612/XNA Access interchange would be, clearly cutting off the construction progress, so it's probably also under construction to be completed at the same time.

It is.  I drive by it a couple of times a week.  Nice 45MPH construction zone speed limit that starts slowing down eastbound pretty much as soon as you cross the Wildcat Creek bridge.  They have girders across the new westbound US-412 overpass already, so moving along nicely at the south end.  Next time I take AR-112 northbound to Bentonville, I'll check on the progress at the north end.

Didn't realize there was so much red clay in NWA. If it was a "Guess the State" photo I would've guessed Georgia.

Our red dirt has got clay in it, but it's also got lot of chunky limestone in it (chert).  Makes for a good base for housing and roads.  If you look at the satellite view of Google Maps in NWA, especially Benton County, you'll see craploads of it as there's construction pretty much everywhere with the continued explosive growth.  I have the privilege of being surrounded by red dirt mines here in Wedington Woods despite our pushback on them in Quorum Court meetings since we were here first.  Not much in the way of peace here in the woods these days with the sounds of excavators and hundreds of dump trucks echoing through the hollows.  They are so close to us that you can see 2 different mines even before leaving Wedington Woods since the trees don't have leaves yet.  Probably won't be living here in 10 years at this rate as Fayetteville will have surrounded us by then.  I enjoy having bonfires in my yard and not having to get a permit from Fayetteville to cut down a single tree on my property.  Good luck stopping me from target practice, though.
