Hiya
My name's Dan, and I'm a lifelong resident of Calgary, Canada, with a decent obsession with roads, transit buses, and traffic lights. I think I found this forum as a result of the 11foot8 website, and a subsequent link or something that had to do with our 7th Street bridge and its 6'6" (2.0m) clearance
In my brief preliminary explorations of this site, Alberta (and even western Canada) don't appear to have much representation here. So anyone with questions, photo requests, or the like regarding my part of the world is welcome to ask. (Outside city limits, I trust all will understand getting an excuse to go for a drive is one thing, the time to actually go is quite another!)
See you 'round the boards!
DM
P.S. If anyone here is a Buzztime Trivia player, you may remember me from such locations as Melrose, Rembrandt's, and Boston Pizza Beddington
Welcome from northeastern Massachusetts!
Welcome from quirky Winnipeg!
I visited Calgary last summer. Went straight through on the Trans-Canada, and saw the construction work on TC 1 and Canada Olympic Drive. Also managed to see one of the only button copy installations in Canada, located on TC 1 at Deerfoot.
Next time I'll drive the ring road (AB 201), but only after it's finished ;-)
Welcome from St. Louis!
Welcome to the board!
Thanks for the welcomes, 1, wolfiefrick, and Alex :)

Ooh, thanks for the photo idea -- button type signs! There's three more locations I can think of, and who knows how long such old signs will remain
201 is three-quarters complete, with just the infamous southwest portion remaining. Highway 1 (TCH) travellers can bypass the city with the north loop, likewise Highway 2 (Deerfoot) on the East Freeway. It's great for getting from one edge of Calgary to another where it
is complete, but I can't recommend driving it for its scenic qualities. Unless the back ends of suburban houses, sound barrier walls, and open bald prairie are your thing ;-)
Greetings from maritime Connecticut! (I know you're landlocked, it's an ocean thing ;-))
Nice to welcome y'all from southcentral Pennsylvania.
Welcome from northern Alabama!
Welcome from greater Cincinnati!!
Welcome from southeast Missouri!
Welcome from Illinois! You know, since you're from an underrepresented section of North America, your unique perspective could really be an asset here! :D
