It took me less than a minute to find it on Google street view. Since we're paranoid here, maybe I shouldn't even be telling you that.

I've actually been more free about giving the locations of old signs nowadays, but I will admit, I was paranoid about it before.

I spotted it in Nov 2006.  I believe it is a 24 incher, which is actually an uncommon size for a state-named Conn shield.

I had totally forgotten that it existed.  It has to be one of the southernmost mentions of US-5: the reason I found it is because I was searching for 5's south terminus.

I think it might have to do with the length of the truck.

Width, actually.  Trucks that are 102" wide or wider, and double-trailer trucks, are effectively limited to the National Network, unless making local deliveries.

the 97 is gone.  I don't believe there are any more button copy US-97 shields left anywhere.

This style of advance signage is excellent. It should be extended to all other surface street highways and roads across the US.

the specification is 1961, but I believe the sign was a CA-73

Here's another nice one out in the Mojave:



The 95 shield is a bit of a mystery, though. It's very similar to the old shields seen in Virginia, as well as this US-6 shield in Bishop:



Never could much info or specs on that style shield. Regardless, though, it's a nice looking sign gantry, complete with a '57 spec I-40 shield.

no, it's perfectly well-signed.  and soon we'll hopefully have state-named shields for it.  I've never seen an example of one.
