I just showed my wife this video.  She was really scared of the bridge when I drove her across it a couple of years ago.  OH.  MY!

Out of curiosity anyone know what the weight limit on that bridge was?  I'd speculate that bus was on a box truck chassis and would have weighed about 13-15k.

Interestingly enough, some damage was repaired after the accident - but looks like that damage was not directly related to the bus.

So essentially that's a full size civic/charter bus crossing that bridge.

I wonder why this is suddenly emerging now when it happened two years ago. If you look at it on YouTube, most of the comments are from very recently too.

Quick whirl on the 'net shows that charter busses or coaches tend to weigh around 30,000 pounds "wet weight" (with fuel and other consumable fluids), and have a gross vehicle weight (loaded maximum) of around 50,000-53,000.

Actually , it's just the way YouTube works. For whatever reason, YouTube decided that people would like this video now. I have been recommended videos from 2009 (as were others), going from about 1000 views in 11 years to over a million views in under a month.

I drove across this bridge last weekend after taking a roadtrip across US-412 to Harrison, up AR-7 and across to the Peel Ferry, across Bull Shoals Lake on the ferry, back to Branson on US-160, down US-65 to MO-86, then down AR-23 to AR-187 and across the bridge before returning US-62 and I-49 home.  Lovely, fun, and scenic drive without the wife and kids in the WRX, and the ferry wasn't crowded at all the way I was going, although it was packed southbound for several trips with a convoy of Jeeps going into Arkansas to play offroad in the woods.  The bridge is only closed Mon 8AM to Thurs 5PM for replacement of old timbers in the railings and treads.  They're about 1/4 of the way through it as they need to have the new timbers in place before reopening on Thursdays.  The bridge does have a 10 Ton limit, and there's no shortage of signage at both ends of AR-187 and within the 2 miles or so leading up to it for overweight and overheight, but apparently there's an idiot born every minute and some become bus drivers apparently.
