Hello everybody! I am C.J. from near San Diego, California who loves to study Thomas Guides in single day since I was a boy like 6 or 7 years old in early 1990s. I am the one of "Thomas Guides" guy. Anyone else still interested to talk about Thomas Guides? It is based by Thomas Bros. Maps/Rand McNally/GM Johnson! Message me if anyone still have Thomas Guide or Thomas Bros Maps Popular Atlas.

Traveled, plus US 13, 44, and 50, and several state routes

I will be in Burlington VT for the eclipse.

Ah. I only replied because no one else had, and I felt bad. But now that makes sense.

Welcome from never-ending-winter Winnipeg!

People have done this before, with late welcomes. 1 still hasn't, and Rothman came back after six years.

Anyways, welcome from freezing Chambersburg.

Welcome from Huntsville, AL, also known as "the Rocket City"!
It's all fun & games until someone summons Cthulhu and brings about the end of the world.

I also collect traffic lights, road signs, fans, and railroad crossing equipment.

I know the love of Thomas Guides from my time in Southern California and from hanging with some of the road enthusiasts there. I equate the affection for them to how I was (and maybe others?) were with ADC atlases in the Mid-Atlantic area back in the 1980's.

FWIW, I have one Thomas Guide in my collection, a 1965 edition covering San Diego County.

When I was a kid in the mid-1990s, I was OBSESSED with the Rand McNally Streetfinder guides for the Chicago area.  (I think that's what Rand McNally called the Thomas Guides once they took them over.)  In fact, these guides were the basis for me choosing the scale for a lot of my map drawings whenever I drew out a new subdivision or town.  It's probably the most efficient approach to include every block and street on the map while keeping things easy-to-read (on paper, anyways).  Anyways, welcome from the (now desolate because winter) cornfields outside Chicago, IL!
Avatar is the last interesting highway I clinched.
