Definitely a better location than where the 49ers picked for Levi's stadium, big step up to get out of Oakland.  Granted that project takes up a lot more space just for the stadium, just seems odd to have them so far out of the city now.

The Warriors might change their name back to the San Francisco Warriors once they move into this arena. I think the name "Golden State" makes them sound like a college team.

I hope so.  In most cases, I can't stand when a team takes a state's name when there's another team in the league in that state.

Even worse is a body of water (Tampa Bay Buccaneers...Devil Rays).

And Tampa Bay Lightning and until 2016 Lake Erie Monsters in the AHL rechristened as Cleveland Monsters for the 2016-17 season.

The worst had to be the Hardware City Rock Cats.  Unless you're from the area (which I am), nobody would know where Hardware City is.  It was a reference to the home of Stanley Tools, but people were so confused the team finally changed Hardware City to New Britain.

Hardware city??  That team name sounds like the PBA way of organizing teams.

How about Minnesota? All four teams based in the Twin Cities have that in their names, and there are no other cities in the state that have major-league teams.

Back in time, the Lakers before their move to LA in 1960 was known as Minneapolis Lakers. http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com/nba/mpls/mplslakers.html The Boston Bruins farm-team in the 1st incarnation of the CHL was briefly known as Minneapolis Bruins.

Dogpatch is just south of there. I end up there a lot on trips to SF because I like the neighborhood, and it's possible to park for free all day and take the Muni rail or Caltrain in. The people there have been talking about this and dreading it for years. You look at what happened to the neighborhood around what is now the Giants stadium and you can see why. But I guess that's the way it is. Until the bubble up there finally bursts.

The Lake Erie Monsters name was in reference to this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bessie_(lake_monster)

So are you saying that they should all have "Twin Cities" as their geographic name? Or should it be the Minneapolis Twins, Minneapolis Vikings, Minneapolis Timberwolves, St. Paul Wild & Minneapolis United FC (in 2017 only)/St. Paul United FC (2018 on) ?

I think Minnesota works just fine and makes perfect sense. Though on a historical sidenote, when the Washington Senators moved to Minnesota in 1961 they wanted to be called the "Twin Cities Twins"....but the MLB rejected the name (although they did let them keep the interlocking TC logo, which they still use on their caps)

Now the George Lucas Museum is in Los Angeles

At one point George Lucas group wanted the same spot that is now going to be the future Chase center.
