Norwood >> Depauw (Muncie, IN)

Leet strats: note that I avoid streets that end with D, K, R, T, N, E, X, and Y.  D, K, R, and T really aren't necessary but I just feel like there are many more names that end with those letters, compared to names that start with those letters.  I actively search for names ending in B, C, F, and P, since they're rare and there's a ton of names that start with them.  I think we definitely want to avoid N, E, X, and Y, though.

I prefer to avoid D, K, and R as well. Just that, in this instance, my only alternative on hand to Norwood ends with K, which seems to be a more unpopular ending letter than D. Also, I waited more than 20 hours to play Norwood, figuring that a better N__ was not coming, and it was best to play something to keep things moving.

That's definitely a much more restrictive policy than I play with.  I do try to play interesting letters to set up my fellow players, but that isn't always possible.  Also, this game shouldn't be designed to be punitive to those people with smaller photo collections.  Some players may be forced to play more ____e, or _____y for example, out of necessity of what's in their photo collection.  Personally, I try to find extra signs that start with less desirable letters in order to ensure the game can continue if one is played.

I called out Hurricane Rex the other day due to a repeated pattern of only posting "y"s.  That's not to say I don't think a "Y" can never be played, but one shouldn't make a habit of playing bad letters repeatedly, particularly if they are just finding stuff to post from elsewhere on the internet.

Hurricane Rex may not have noticed it, but the bottom half of his photo in reply # 2107 has the perfect N___ response to AsphaltPlanet's last photo. So I'll play it to move this along.

I did notice it but I have a personal rule of no posting within 45 hours or 5 posts of my last in challenges so I don't bleed out too fast or clog challenges with my photos.

Posted by Jim, in the "signs with Roman numerals" Daily Picture Challenge in that game.

This puts X into play, but a lot of other options too.
