What are some other roadgeek websites I should know about as an active member of this site's forum? I've been looking to branch out a little more lately and learn everything there is to know about the community.

What would #2 be? Travel Mapping? I know not everyone uses it, but there is a lot of crossover.

Depends on what you are after.  You are wanting just to talk and share stuff you've pretty much found the best in the form of this forum.  If you are looking for highway history there are definitely other external options in the form of reference sites for the individual states.

I used to have one before payment processing gremlins ate my domain renewal efforts, but I still have a Flickr page and a Facebook page. There's a thread on photos and videos. Updates to sites are often announced in that thread.

Wikipedia is a pretty handy general reference for roads. There's a dedicated band of roadgeeks there (some of whom post here too).

Because of the cost involved with running a website, and because of Facebook, there aren't a whole lot of websites anymore that are kept current discussing roads.  However, there are a number of sites that discuss roads - you just have to be patient, and maybe sometimes creative, in your searches.  If you were to type in US 1 as a search topic, try 'US 1 History', 'US 1 Virginia', 'US 1 pictures', etc, and look thru several pages of search results.  You may pick up over time that there are some people that seem to discuss the roadway in detail and offer links to other routes or to their main page. 

Most of the search results will be for directions to a business, or a park, or a crash.  After you weed thru them, you may find some interesting info many of those that are members of this forum put together over time.

Are you sure you provided the correct email address when you submitted the account?  I know gmail does get the emails from the site (but they can sometimes show up in the spam folder).  The only way gmail isn't going to get the email, is if you put in the wrong email when creating the account.

Are you sure you provided the correct email address when you submitted the account?  I know gmail does get the emails from the site (but they can sometimes show up in the spam folder).  The only way gmail isn't going to get the email, is if you put in the wrong email when creating the account.

You can also make your own roadgeek site for free if you cannot afford WordPress, Square space, Wix, Weebly, Medium, Joomla and other paid hosting services. This place is called Neocities.org it is based on the former Geocities code and it's open source.
