His family and Sylvester Stallone are both reporting Dennehy's death.  They say it was natural causes, and not coronavirus.  He was 81.

Didn't he play Bob Knight in some ESPN movie?

"Rambo: First Blood" was shot in and around the city of Hope BC.  It sure looks a lot like Oregon.  That Sheriff Teasle character always did make my blood boil.  Stallone's speech toward the end of the movie sums up how many vets felt.  You got to love the Seventies style signage that was in Hope back then.  Maybe that is why so much of the town was blown up in the movie...LOL!

US 101 is THE backbone of the Pacific coast from Bandon OR to Willits CA.  Industry, tourism and local traffic would be gone or severely crippled without it being in functioning condition in BOTH states.

Coronavirus is a "natural cause," but I get the point.

Depends who you ask on the internet sadly...

My first SF/horror short story collection is available: "Young Man, Open Your Winter Eye"

I've gone to great lengths to recreate some of the classic First Blood scenes involving Dennehy on my multiple visits to Hope in the past. Always a good time, and he will be missed.

Still one of my favorite lines: "why are you pushing me?"

This is a copy of a post that I started.    I started a thread too, before any other thread got out the day the news came out.   Yes what a shame, as many that we loved and grew up with are going as life goes on.  We all live to die unfortunately, but at least he knew how to live acting.
Every day is a winding road, you just got to get used to it.

Stephane Dumas

Besides the role of the sheriff in Rambo. I also remember Brian Dennehy for his role of Tommy Callahan's father in Tommy Boy.

F/X and F/X2.  Baz's Romeo and Juliet.  He was an actor with a great presence.
