Proposed Name Change Yell to Hackett
« on: September 04, 2022, 05:46:03 PM »

A ptoposal has been presented to change Fayetteville's Archibald Yell Blvd to Nelson-Hackett Blvd.

Yell Blvd (as it is commonly referred to as) dates back to around 1950 when US 71 was rerouted off the town Square.

They could change the name of Yell County to Hackett County, and thus confuse the residents of the cities of Yellville and Hackett that are outside of Yell County.

Although Grito County would be more popular with the current population.

Hackett is Sebastian County, i doubt Ft Smith would approve.
