Slide Remediation Project on US 41/64/72 W of Chattanooga

This project is in the Tennessee River Gorge west of Chattanooga. There has been a long-standing issue with the highway trying to slide down the mountain into the river.

A photo of a rainbow was posted on Facebook that was taken within this project. In the distance, it looks like the highway might in the process of being re-aligned.

Holy [bleep], how can they even have this road open? This is something you might expect in third-world country, but not the USA..just wow!

Has anybody been through this area lately? If so, is the highway being re-aligned in any way?
