--this is sorely needed but will create a large headache for those who use this as an alternate route from OKC to Stillwater on football game days.

NOTES:  As was expected, the vast majority of the openings are for bridge repair/replacement.  One of the few things our Governor and Legislature did right was to divert funding to improve our sorry bridges. A few years ago, OK was dead last in any list of bad bridges.

Interesting that only the portion of I-35 around Main Street is involved in this. Currently crews are repaving I-35 around the SH-9 and Lindsey Street exits, and sound walls have gone up near the Main Street interchange. I assumed that the Main Street SPUI, SH-9/Lindsey interchange reconfig, and bridge widening were to all be one big project. Do you know if the repaving currently going on is the beginning of the widening through mile 108, or if it's just pavement maintenance?

That said I don't think the "bridge widening" in this is meant to be a capacity improvement. I think it's just that Ed Noble Parkway is going to extend south to become the southbound onramp from Lindsey, and the only place it can tie into I-35 is on the bridge, so it's just where the ramp is going to connect/be an acceleration lane.

IIRC, the paving you see right now is just pavement maintenance.

That would make sense, however I read somewhere that they were going to add a fourth southbound lane all the way to the casino exit to mitigate the backup there on weekends.

So there would be two exit only lanes for SH-9 westbound? I don't see that working all that well, considering the casino traffic will all have to filter into one lane at some point to turn into the casino...
