This past week has been quite pleasant weather-wise in the Eastern Ozarks. For most of the week, it was mostly sunny and in the low 80s. My time there involved a mix of hiking, swimming, and floating, and that is the temperature where all those things can be done in relative comfort.

Roadgeekteen

Upper 80s and sunny with some clouds.

Had a tornado warning for Rock and Green County, but I'm in Dane and we got nothing more than a regular thunderstorm.

80 mph winds

In Midway IA, a gust of 112 mph was recorded today.

In derecho wind events it is a good idea to consider a Severe Thunderstorm Warning like a Tornado warning. 112 mph is equivalent to EF2 tornado force winds. It doesn't matter if it's blowing in a straight line or a circle, 112 mph wind is 112 mph wind.

Yes it was a gust

I mean, an EF5 tornado is basically a 200 mph gust of wind that changes direction...

zachary_amaryllis

i like that explanation..

meanwhile, 57 degrees, clear but very smoky due to nearby fires..
