Roads with a streetlight removed due to high number of crashes

This example in Coon Rapids, MN has been gone since at least before 2019. A 45 mph speed limit and a free-flowing right turn lane make this location relatively dangerous for streetlights. Unless if this thread idea has been done before, I would like to see more examples if they exist.

I guess I'm confused: why is this a dangerous spot for a streetlight?

In Norton, OH, there was a traffic signal at the intersection of OH 21 and Minor Road. The signal was removed and it was converted to a RIRO: https://goo.gl/maps/9Rg8YRoKzQhXiPyQA

Moderate speeds, but it being two feet away from the curb and also being the last streetlight before the right turn make this spot especially dangerous in the winter.

I apologize, but I was not exactly looking for examples of (formerly) signalized intersections in this thread. I should have been more specific and stated that in this thread, I am looking for examples of lamposts/streetlights/road lighting removed due to a history of crashes.

Keeping in mind that we're talking about street lighting and not signals, are you sure this isn't a case where the light was knocked down and they just didn't bother to replace it? That's not uncommon.

You have a point, that's the direction I want to go. I realize that it may not be uncommon everywhere else, but I was struggling to come up with examples around my area.

I don't understand how removing a streetlight makes anything safer.

I guess, maybe, one at an intersection that causes a visibility hazard or something. I would think it would need to be pretty thick to do so and really such things don't exist.

Unless you can say the streetlight has been knocked down numerous times, it looks like it was probably knocked down once, and due to the specialty nature of these particular lights, simply wasn't replaced.  I'm not seeing skid marks, tire marks on the curb or other damage to signs and poles in the area that makes it very dangerous, and other lights near intersections nearby the various intersections are still standing.

I'll say one thing, maybe this thread should change into "Gore Signs That Should Be Removed Due To a High Number of Hits".  I have lived here in Northern Kentucky for almost 28 years and I have seen the I-75/71 EXIT 184A gore sign knocked down at least 25 times.  It seems that many drivers misjudge the ramp and their speed coming off the C-D road that the ramps leaves from.  I drove by it today and, yes, it was down again.

In this classic GSV https://goo.gl/maps/ARM5Y8nnkhsTJnbEA , the old Brooklawn circle was known to be two travel lanes wide with no markings.  Usually never a problem.

In this image taken last year, https://goo.gl/maps/pst4FqmJUiEHJFfy5 , it's now two marked lanes wide, but the right lane is along the outside circumference of the circle.  While hard to see in the pic, it's actually a fairly hard right turn.  Motorists not familiar with the circle tend to turn softer than they need to, and go from the right lane entering the circle into the left lane within the circle.  The result?  The car in the left lane swerves to avoid a crash, and the result is what one would see driving thru today: The BGS is down on the ground. The lightpole is down on the road.  The white multi-chevron sign is nowhere to be found. And I'm not even sure that One Way sign is there now either.  All from separate incidents.
