Some one

I-610 in Texas and I-610 in Louisana are about 340 miles apart.

I-285 in NC and GA are about 300 miles apart.

There are a few of these involving 3di of I-40 in North Carolina and Tennessee:
The I-140s are about 490 miles apart
The I-240s are about 500 miles apart
The I-440s are about 540 miles apart
The I-840s are about 450 miles apart

I'm surprised NC doesn't have an I-640. Maybe because that was the planned number for a completed I-540?
Control cities CAN be off the route! Control cities make NO sense if signs end before the city is reached!

Travel Mapping - Most Traveled: I-40, 20, 10, 5, 95 - Longest Clinched: I-20, 85, 24, 16, NJ Tpk mainline
Champions - UGA FB '21 '22 - Atlanta Braves '95 '21 - Atlanta MLS '18

That was the original plan was to have it be I-640, but it was changed to I-540 because part of it is being constructed as a toll road. If I-540 in North Carolina were designated I-640 as originally planned, it would've only been 340 miles between the two.
Decommission 128 south of Peabody!

Lowest untraveled number: 56

GA 10 and FL 10.  Over 245 miles between the two but further as you head west on US 90 out of Jacksonville.  Between Jacksonville and Augusta are the closest those two get.

FL 8 ( I-10) and GA 8 are apart 200 miles between Tallahassee and Atlanta.
Every day is a winding road, you just got to get used to it.

Also GA 2 and FL 2. Those are 300+ miles apart, FL 2 is along the northern border with GA and similarly GA 2 is along the northern border with TN/NC.

Dirt Roads

West Virginia has some interesting twists:

WV-106 in Guyandotte (East Huntington) -to- PA-106 in Carbondale PA (538 miles)
WV-73 in Mount Gay -to- PA-73 in Philadelphia (524 miles via Maryland, 529 miles if you stay in Pennsylvania - big whoop)
WV-75 near Lavalette -to- PA-75 in Cheltenham PA (511 miles)
WV-107 in Hinton -to- PA-107 near Jermyn PA (482 miles via Maryland and Virginia, 526 miles if you stay in Pennsylvania)
WV-49 in Williamson -to- PA-49 near Coudersport PA (480 miles)
WV-73 in Mount Gay -to- PA-73 near Leesport PA (476 miles)
WV-63 in Alderson -to- PA-63 in Green Lane PA (419 miles via Maryland and Virginia, 469 miles if you stay in Pennsylvania)
WV-44 west of Logan -to- PA-44 at I-80 in Buckhorn PA (467 miles)

This one doesn't count because it is closer to hit WV-3 in Beckley, but it was crazy:
WV-3 in Sweet Springs -to- PA-3 in West Chester (384 miles via Maryland and Virginia, 491 miles in you stay in Pennsylvania)

VA 166 is in the Tidewater area of Virginia. KY 166 is in the Jackson Purchase area of Kentucky. They're on the extreme ends of each state. Gotta be a pretty long haul between those two routes.

Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.

Oops.  Missed these on the Kentucky side.  More from West Virginia:

WV-51 at I-81 in Inwood -to- US-51 at US-62 in Bardwell KY (779 miles via Virginia and Tennessee)
WV-51 in Gerrardstown -to- US-51 at US-62 in Bardwell KY (765 miles staying in West Virginia)

WV-45 at I-81 in Inwood -to- US-45 at the Tennessee State Line near Oak Grove KY (678 miles via Virginia and Tennessee)
WV-45 at WV-51 in Gerrardstown -to- US-45 in Paducah KY (737 miles, staying in West Virginia all the way)

WV-115 in Martinsburg -to- KY-115 at the Tennessee State Line near Oak Grove KY (680 miles via Virginia and Tennessee)
WV-115 in Martinsburg -to- KY-115 at the other end in Fairview (Christian County) KY (692 miles, staying in West Virginia all the way)

I separated this one out because of the coincidence:

WV-480 at WV-45 in Shepherdstown -to- KY-480 in Shepherdsville KY (561 via Maryland, 565 miles staying in West Virginia)

The eastern terminus of TX Spur 148 in Fort Hancock and the western terminus of the westernmost segment of AR-148 in Black Oak are 1047 miles apart by car.

Using driving distances along the Google recommended route. These are what I think are the longest, but people may find longer ones:
MB/ON 77 = 2424 km / 1506 mi (quickest route is through 6 US states!)
MN/ON 34 = 2034 km / 1264 mi
MI/ON 125 = 1837 km / 1141 mi
OH/ON 618 = 2146 km / 1333 mi
PA/ON 125 = 2446 km / 1520 mi
NY/ON 125 = 2707 km / 1682 mi
QC/ON 125 = 2075 km / 1289 mi

Red Lake in Northwestern Ontario is the hot spot for furthest distances!

The longest I could find for each of Nevada's neighboring states, via the shortest driving route:

Nevada 164/Oregon 164:  961 miles (as mentioned by the OP)
Nevada 289/Arizona 289:  939 miles
Nevada 169/California 169:  774 miles
Nevada 88/Utah 88:  705 miles
Nevada 28/Idaho 28:  641 miles

In the case of Nevada and Idaho, SR 28 is the only number they share (not counting the same highway; for those that don't meet at the state line, there's about 430 miles of I-15 between Nevada and Idaho, and about 121 miles of US 95 between the two).
