Cairo bridge to reopen

The District 9 Office of the Illinois Department of Transportation would
like to announce the re-opening of the structure carrying US Routes 60
and 62 over the Mississippi River in Alexander County.  This bridge is
located south of the City of Cairo, Illinois.  The bridge will be open
to all legally configured vehicles (maximum gross weight of 40 tons,
maximum axle weight of 10 tons) beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March
6th, 2012.

The Department recognizes the inconvenience this closure has created,
and appreciates the patience and cooperation of the motoring public
allowing contractors to make the repairs that were necessary.
