Hamilton County, NY

1. NY 30
Spans the length of the county and gets most of the important communities.

2. NY 8
This and NY 28 are of similar importance, but I pushed this one up a bit because it goes through the county seat.

3. NY 28
Serves Inlet, Blue Mountain Lake, and Indian Lake.

4. NY 28N
Serves Long Lake, but half its length in the county is just concurrent with NY 30.

5. NY 10
Doesn't do much of anything in the county.

And my home county, Cattaraugus (which, by the way, is Iroquois for "smelly riverbanks"):

Tier A: Very important connectors and long distance corridors

1. I-86/NY 17 - Connects the two cities as well as Randolph and ASP.

2. US 219 - Serves Salamanca and tourist hotspot Ellicottville.

Tier B: Important local connectors

1. NY 16 - Connects Olean, Franklinville, and Delevan. (Little tidbit- The highest point on the NY State Route system in Western NY is on 16 south of Olean.)

2. NY 417- This serves Salamanca, Allegany, Olean, and Portville. Very important in general; less important specifically to this county.

3. NY 242 - Connects Randolph, Little Valley, Ellicottville.

Tier C: Minor local connectors (unranked)
NY 394 (doesn't do much in this county)
US 62 (same thing)
NY 39 (same thing!)
NY 98 (serves very rural areas)
NY 240 (same thing)
NY 243 (spends almost no time in the county)
NY 305 (same thing)
NY 322 ( just connects South Dayton to US 62)
NY 280 (a generally little-used, narrow, deteriorating little road that doesn't need a State Route number)
NY 353 (decent length but doesn't go much of anywhere)
NY 241 (another waste of a number, connecting Randolph to US 62 in the middle of nowhere)
NY 446 (a very short connector from Hinsdale to Cuba [in Allegany County])
US 219 Business (almost entirely concurrent with NY 417)
This list has made me realize just how many state routes there are in this dinky little county.

EDIT: Oops! It's NY 446 not 443.

I'm going to do Albemarle County now:

Tier I
I-64 - The most important route in the county.
US 29 - Connects Charlottesville to Lynchburg and Washington.

Tier II
US 250 - More of a local Route of I-64.
Bus. US 29 / 250 - Business Routes for Charlottesville.
VA-20 - Connects Charlottesville with Scottsville and Orange.
VA-6 - Follows the James River and connects Scottsville to Richmond.
VA-240 - Pretty much a US 250 Business Route for Crozet.

Tier III
VA-151 - Scenic Route connecting multiple breweries.
SR-810 - Connects Crozet with Stanardsville.
SR-743 - Former Routing of US 29.
SR-649 - Connects VA-20 to the CHO Airport.

Sounds about right. You forgot CO 60 and CO 66, but neither road is very significant.
