If it's all made IL 390, that rules out a change to I-390 unless they want it to change to a state route at the end (which I don't know if IDOT ever does).
I-255 and IL 255
IL 255 can't be part of I-255 because it is a spur and those have to start with an odd number.
Uh forgetting VA-44 became part of I-264?

So is there going to be another toll gantry east of Supreme Drive?

Nothing officially from what I can see on the website but given how the gantry tolls are roughly 25 cents each, I would not doubt it.

I think there has to be one for eastbound since there will be since there will be an entrance to EB IL 390 just east of IL 83 and I think there will be more than just access to I-490 at the east end of IL 390.

IL 390 will remain a state highway, just like IL 255 and IL 394 will remain state highways. If Illinois wanted those highways as Interstates, they would have signed them as such well before now.

Althought in the case of IL-255, ILDOT pulled a trick from NYSDOT by being a state extension of I-255.

An article in the print edition of the Daily Herald indicated a 2025 opening for part of I-490, with the rest opening in 2026.  The article seemed to also indicate a 2025 opening for IL 390 east of IL 83.

to O'Hare by 2025 and I-90 to O'Hare west  / IL-390
IL tollway website seems to say

IL-390 to IL-19???? or just O'Hare west and I-294 to franklin avenue by 2025 with the last part done by 2026??

Now is part of that late 2025 with the rest early 2026??  Opening in full very late 2025 if work get's done faster?

The Ghostbuster

Does anyone know what the exit numbers will be for each interchange along the Interstate 490 corridor? The Wikipedia page has nothing on it.

Seeing that it is all of what, 4, maybe 5 miles long and each direction will only have 2 numbered exits the choices don't seem to be that diverse.

Exit 0 or 1 at I-90
Exit 5 at I-294

I would guess IL-390 will be Exit 3.

Just an educated guess.

Looking at the new "updated" plans for the 490 Tollway, there will be interchanges at (exit numbers are based on my assumptions):

Exit 0 (not going to be signed): I-294 (Tri-State Tollway)- NB exit and SB entrance
Exit 1: Franklin Avenue- new full diamond interchange with a new connector road
Exit 2: IL Route 19 (Irving Park Road)- full interchange
Exit 3: IL 390 (Elgin-O'hare Tollway)/Future O'hare Terminal?- full system-to-system interchange
Exit 4: Elmhurst Road/Pratt Boulevard- SB exit and NB entrance
Exit 5: IL Route 72 (Touhy Avenue)- NB exit and SB entrance
Exit 6: I-90 (Jane Addams Memorial Tollway)- full trumpet interchange

The section between I-294 and IL Route 19 will open to traffic in 2026, and the section between IL Route 19 and I-90, including the IL Route 390 interchange, will be open to traffic in 2025.

Edited to add the timeline of the completion dates of when the section will open to traffic, based on the most recent PowerPoint presentation from the Elgin O'Hare Western Access (EOWA) Local Advisory Committee on the Illinois Tollway's website.

You mean IL-19/Irving Park Rd, correct? Or am I dumb?

It's been fixed. Thanks for catching that error!

That is not a fair comparison because IL 394 can't be an interstate because it's not a freeway for its entire route. Although I thought IL 390 would become I-390 once the connection to I-290 was complete. So I was wrong there. As far as IL 255 goes it's not part of the St Louis beltway it's a spur so I get not making that one an interstate either.

Exit 2: IL Route 19 (Irving Park Road)- full interchange

Looking at the presentation I'm finding on the Tollway's website, Pages 9 and 33 make it look like there may be more than one interchange for IL 19/Irving Park Road, with a half interchange before I-490 turns south to cross the CP yard.

Barely related but the image on page 30 is obviously mirrored, which I think is hilarious.
This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

maybe more then one exit point. If so will it be like exit 3a, 3b ,ect or just say 3, 4?

We drove by the eventual 390/490 interchange on Sunday. I'd say about half of the feeder ramps are set up and they have moved the heavy equipment onto the larger berms they prebuilt years ago. Looks like they'll begin on the elevated ramp bridges soon.
The local weatherman, trust me I can be 99.9% right!

On the Illinois state map, the color for 390 has not been changed to yellow for toll. It's marked as toll on the insets and included on the most recent tollway map, though.

EDIT: This was discussed in the thread about the state map. I'm just late.
