Everyone knows cold is bad

Lots of people say they like cold winters. But if we analyze things closely we see that the consensus among humans is that cold is bad, and even among plants and animals there is that same consensus.

When we ignore someone, we are "giving them the cold shoulder"
When two countries have poor relations, we describe those relations as "frosty"
When we say someone has a "cold personality" or is "cold hearted", we don't mean it positively
House Stark urged vigilance among its members by saying "Winter is coming"

This is not a coincidence, people have shown a clear preference for warm weather in surveys and in their migration patterns.

And plants and animals agree. In winter, not summer, trees shed their leaves and animals hibernate or migrate south. The Amazon Rainforest is teeming with biodiversity while Siberia is a barren wasteland.

If someone is "heated" or "hot-blooded", that's not good either.

Your argument is akin to saying that left handed people are bad, because the Latin for left is the same root word as sinister.

If someone is very attractive, we say that they're "hot".

Would you like to have cockroaches or kudzu or mosquitoes that don't die in winter in your area? I didn't think so.
Clinched, minus I-93 (I'm missing a few miles and my file is incorrect)

Traveled, plus US 13, 44, and 50, and several state routes

I will be in Burlington VT for the eclipse.

We have chemicals to take care of those. And in the temperate Northeast, we have Lyme Disease spread by ticks.

The reason why we call them "colds" is because sneeze particles stay in the air longer when it's cold out so germs spread more easily.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that I like cold winters, but I like NOT having:

Hurricanes
Earthquakes
Alligators
Rattlesnakes
Scorpions
July with temps regularly above 100 or above 90 with high humidity

I accept the cold winters in order to not have any of those things.
Indiana: counties 100%, highways 100%
Illinois: counties 100%, highways 61%
Michigan: counties 100%, highways 56%
Wisconsin: counties 86%, highways 23%

Earthquakes have nothing to do with climate.

I know that, but they're a reason why I wouldn't live in California, which has a very nice climate.
