SPUIs with stop lines before the right turn onto the on-ramp

I was touring around Irvine, CA today when I noticed the SPUI between the Jamboree Rd Freeway and Edinger Ave has a SPUI designed so that the right turns onto the on-ramp occur after the stop line.

Almost universally, SPUIs are designed with free right turns, so this is a bit unusual.

You get signs not normally seen at SPUIs as a result, like "turning traffic yield to pedestrians" or "no right turn" blank-out signs.

In a way, the on-ramps are more like diamonds, but the interchange is clearly a SPUI.

Also, the roadway is lined in that area as if traffic could come off the ramp and continue straight onto this ramp.  But, the signage on the off-ramp indicates "Right Lane Must Turn Right", there's a right turn arrow on the pavement, and the traffic light uses green right arrows.

Yeah, it could be a continuous flow add-lane but they decided to signalize it. Odd.

As to the whole setup, it was definitely necessitated because of the drainage channels in the area. I actually think it's quite clever. But it wouldn't surprise me if this was the only example.

Those Arizona examples are like a diamond/SPUI hybrid. Very interesting. I really like them. Definitely still SPUIs and would 100% count for this thread. Heck, they're a textbook example.

That TUDI is insanely wide. I would love to see how it operates.

The secondary stop line (if you want to call it that) at that SPUI reminds me of this DDI in Odense, DK. The off-ramp left turn has a second signal separate from the crossover.
