Yeah, the hard turn at the North end of the Green Alternative definitely sucks. It looks like a copy & paste of the design from the La Joya bypass down at the current end of I-2. I hope they go with the Yellow Alternative. It will be able to feature more consistent design speeds. I could see the hard turns of the green route dumping the speed limit down to 55mph or less on those curves.

The 4.3 mile yellow option performs better on most measures.  Its modelling shows better diversion of trucks from town, prevents more pedestrian and cyclists casualties, and is would result in fewer generated emissions.  A well would be displaced in this option unlike that of the green. Also, the yellow disrupts 23 versus 16 parcels for the green.  On the other hand, the yellow would not result in any displacements while the green would result in one and more land would be needed.

The yellow option looks better unless dealing with more land parcel owners is a deal breaker for TxDot.
