Completing I-49 might be the simplest solution in the short term despite the negative of going through New Orleans. And once I-49 is finished, there might be more flexibility of replacing the existing bridge with both I-49 and US 190 serving as detours for I-10 and 12 respectively. Whenever they do replace the bridge, I-10 from LA 415 to Lorri Burgess Ave and I-110 through downtown would probably need to be rebuilt as well.

Downtown Baton Rouge would be a mess but necessary.
