I can cover the "Next 5 Exits" case here on I-74 crossing into Illinois.  June 29, 2001.

QuoteMarch 24, 2018: Post a single photo that shows a highway's current alignment along with an old or proposed alignment of the same highway.

The old alignment does not have to be currently in use. It just needs to be evident that something was there or was going to be there.

Here's my example. I-635 in Kansas City was originally proposed to follow what is now K-5 to meet up with US 69 and cross the Missouri River using the Fairfax Bridge. However, money was allocated for a new Missouri River crossing, and the abandoned freeway stub became part of K-5.

Not sure if this is what you had in mind, but this is in Salt Lake City:

Currently, US 89 and SR-186 bump at this intersection. 89 goes south and west, and 186 goes north and east. But before 2007, both routes went straight through. 89 went north-south, and 186 went east-west. So 186 is an old alignment of 89, and 89 is an old alignment of 186.

This photo is taken on northbound Church Street leaving Decatur, GA. Up until sometime before 1954*, this was US 29. In the background, you can see traffic coming down Scott Blvd, which is modern US 29 (and US 78).

* GDOT maps from 1948-1953 have both the old and new alignments labeled as the US 29 mainline; I don't know what the situation was in the field at the time. Starting with the 1954 map, the old route is labeled as 29 Business, which it would remain until the 1980s.

The two lane road in the distance on the right is the original road which would have continued in a straight line towards the bridge I'm on. The new road opened a day or two prior to taking this photo. For some reason the old road is still busy with traffic.

Challenge for March 25th: A city or street name that is also the name of a country. How many can we get?

I personally will split the UK into the four parts.

For example,

US-165 by TheInstrumentalist, on Flickr
I take pictures of road signs, that's about it.

General rule of thumb: Just stay in the "Traffic Control" section of the forum and you'll be fine.

I'm assuming we will disallow examples like "New Canada" so the country name needs to match exactly.

Poland, New York, from New York 8 at New York 10's northern terminus.  February 7, 2014.

19 miles to Brazil, Indiana, on I-70.  January 23, 2004.

Town of Russia, New York.  On New York 28.  May 15, 2013.

I don't take pictures of standalone green guide signs much, so these are all from BGS's.  I was planning on making a stop in Cuba, IL this past February, but I ran out of time.  Now I'm regretting it.

Why is the school bus going the wrong way?
I build roads on Minecraft. Like, really good roads.
Interstates traveled:
4/5/10*/11**/12**/15/25*/29*/35(E/W[TX])/40*/44**/49(LA**)/55*/64**/65/66*/70°/71*76(PA*,CO*)/78*°/80*/95°/99(PA**,NY**)

*/** indicates a terminus/termini being traveled

Challenge: Post photos of interchange ramps that are steeply inclined not on account of a grade separation.

Exit 83 on I-86 westbound:

The inclination here (and it looks much steeper in real life) is because the ramp must climb the embankment to meet the parallel surface road (old NY 17 in this case) which runs on top of it. The intersecting road does not cross the freeway, so there's no overpass that the ramp has to get up to. It's only due to terrain.
