According to the calendar then in use, George Washington was born on February 11, 1731. The holiday now observed as Washington's Birthday therefore can never occur on either of the actual dates for his birthday (February 11 Old Style or February 22 New Style) because the third Monday in February can be no earlier than February 15 and no later than February 21.

A properly shuffled deck of cards (considered 7 correct shuffles) is very likely unique in history.

The possible number of permutations of a 52 card deck = 80658175170943878571660636856403766975289505440883277824000000000000

This number is 52!, the factorial of 52. This is 52*51*50*49, etc... until multiplied by 1.

Despite British loathing of the term, 'Soccer' the term was invented in British public schools* (which are the more-exclusive private schools, so a little misleading!), shortening 'Association Football' to 'soc' and adding an 'er' at the end. This was to distinguish it from 'Rugby Football', which was shortened to 'rug' and thus referred to as Rugger

On the other hand, exactly eight perfect shuffles will restore the deck to its original state. So perfect shuffles are not desirable.

This is probably why a casino dealer will only do four attempts at a perfect shuffle, with a shitty shuffle* thrown in after the third one to mix things up more.

*It's actually a strip shuffle, where you basically just cut the deck into about six blocks of cards and reverse their order. Contrasted to the riffle shuffle most people are familiar with.

The Three Stooges made 97 shorts under the Columbia Pictures banner with Jerry (Curly) Howard.

After Curly was forced to retire in 1947, an additional 74 shorts were made with Shemp Howard.

After Shemp died, an additional 16 were made with "Curly-Joe" Besser.

Then Columbia fired the Three Stooges in 1959, though they continued to work for over 10 years after their run at Columbia was over.
