If I'd seen that in Dublin instead of UA I probably would have assumed it was an "official" sign.

Dublin would go with brown so it matches their street blades.
Wait, it's all Ohio? Always has been.

Maybe one can be had at the Gas Station Memoribilia/Map collectors meet in Dublin on Friday or Saturday.
Please, don't sue Alex & Andy over what I wrote above

The "formerly" tab is a great idea. I would only change a few things:
* add the date the designation was changed
* leave it up permanently
* include all the changes in the history of that section of road

Nowadays "formerly" would confuse too many people.....and in parts on the Northeast, they'd pronounce it "formally" and get the message backwards.....

Found a few from my former wanderings through Colorado...

First up, from the old SH 1 and US 85/87 alignment in and around Aguilar, CO (taken in 2009)

Then, from the lower Arkansas Valley (taken in 2006)
That is an embossed metal All Buses Stop sign.

^ Glad to see those Manchester signs still kicking! Those are some of the last button copy signs left in the state, and I think there are some in Hudson along NH 3A. Other than those, that's it.

I believe that is on a side street to US-50 somewhere on the east side of Pueblo... I have definitely seen and photographed that sign; would have to look up exactly where, though.

Way east, actually... I found this one in Fowler (~30 miles east) on SH 167 a few blocks north of 50.

this sign is button copy with US 17 in all text and it still exists.  Sadly I was in the wrong direction today and it was raining as well.  The street view image does not do it justice cause of the glare.

Here are some from New Hampshire...

(there are several more silhouetted old man NH 113 shields in Tamworth as well)

69th Street North

These used to be fairly common north of Wichita.  I went up there today, and this is the only one I found that was still (a) there, and (b) legible.  Many of them have been replaced with standard green blades.  I even spotted one that was still on a metal post that looked to be designed for them, but the road name wasn't legible at all so I didn't snap a picture.
Keep right except to pass.  Yes.  You.

Someone used a VA white rectangle for the address on their mailbox. Finally thought to get a picture of it on my bike ride today.

Either that, or VDOT maintains their driveway.

I saw it used in Wisconsin after turnback of a state route, however. In Minnesota, they use "OLD".

Hey, this isn't West Virginia, and this isn't a pentagon route.

Someone did something similar along MA 133 in Rowley. Their address sign on their mailbox is similar to but not quite a standard MA route marker with the number in FHWA fonts.

Is the really-old button copy on the Amoskeag bridge in Manchester still there?  Those were classics, including "To Rte. U.S. 3" spelled out in button copy.

I never even knew those existed! They're still on Street View, but I can't say if they're still up there today.

On US-89 in Utah, only notable for distance to Phoenix

The only I-15 trailblazer I know of in Arizona

Leaving New Mexico, Land of Enchantment written in Navajo on US-64

POE sign on US-64 in Teec Nos Pos

This used to be something else

I think this is the only US-666 sign left anywhere, in Gallup

Random metric sign on I-25 north of Santa Fe

I drove the entire length of Oklahoma 3 and these were the only circle 3 shields I saw, all the way in Idabel at the very last highway junction

On 79/80 in Shreveport, the 1 shield does have a weird outline, but the US shields are gorgeous

Cool split shield a few blocks west

Four way stop ahead on US-80 near Mineola, Texas

At US-54 along US-70 in Tularosa, NM

looks like a Utah product.  I wouldn't be surprised, given that it points to a Utah segment of I-15.

and, I believe you are correct ... no trailblazers I know of for 15 in Littlefield, or via casual perusal of the campground access roads.

Why are the control cities on separate tabs? Couldn't they all be incorporated into one sign?

I'm not sure about the wide spaces between the digits of the 79 and 71 shields... Also that I-20 shield is a bit bloated, IMHO.
