Found this little gem in the fall of 2008 deep in the heart of PA....it's placement was so obscure i imagine it may still be there...


This i suppose could be both Best and Worst...a wood I-84 shield...given that half it's face is gone...also from 2008


And probably the last Connecticut STOP with 'State Traffic Commission' written out still in service...and not enjoying its retirement at a McD's parking lot

Where is the wood I-84 gem from? Is it still there?
There used to be a wood "One Way Do Not Enter" sign in Naugatuck on Water St, but it fell off and is now gone.  This happened within the past year.

That was almost 3 years ago, so i dont know if it is still 'hanging around' or not

All i can recall offhand without trying to find my notes which are buried somewhere, was this gem was located in Eastern PA....it was at the end of a gravel semi-road that led to a business....if i find the notes, i will email the general location to you, but i think others found it as well...

There used to be a lot of non-crossbuck railroad crossing signs on private railroad crossings along US 41 and the CSX Brooksville Subdivision north of Lutz, Florida, but they've all been torn down. I don't have any pictures of them right at the moment, but I can try to find them during the week.

a very interesting Illy 149 there... smaller numbers to squeeze in the three-digit numeral, as opposed to breaking the border as on the 152.  Had never seen that style before on what looks like a completely flat shield.  I've only seen it squeezed into an older embossed-outline blank as seen below - and this might not even be a pertinent case, as "171" is effectively two digits wide.  The numbers are the same height as the cut-border style, as opposed to being shorter like that 149.
