Bids are due January 19 for the first work on the Grand Parkway section C. Section C is southwest of Houston, from US 59/IH 69 to SH 288.

The work is very minimal, just a short section of southbound frontage road south of US 59. But it is a start, which suggests more work may be in the pipeline. Info below from http://www.civcastusa.com/projectdetails.aspx?projectID=7732  (registration required)

The low bid was $5.2 million by James Construction.

This is a small project with a short schedule. The schedule is to have the lanes open by Thanksgiving 2016, and all work done by the end of 2016.

Work is already underway on the relocation of two high voltage transmission towers near US 59.

Looking at the plans it seems like the purpose of this project is to build SB feeders from 59 thru Sansbury. NB lanes seem to be untouched, but seem like will be moved in a separate project. The roadway currently curves around a Burger King and an Exxon station, which will probably need to be demo'd when the overpass and flyovers get built in the future.
