What are the highways you've never been on other than a segment that was concurrent with another route? Non-solo routes don't count. Here are mine:

US-85 and US-87 are the only ones I can think of.

US-377.  I've driven two segments many times, but only because they overlap other highways:

The section from Del Rio to just north of the CBP checkpoint, multiplexed with US-277, and part also multiplexed with US-90.  I've always continued to/from US-277 at the north end of the overlap.  And now I'm wondering why US-377's southern endpoint isn't that junction.  Why does it extend southward to Del Rio?

The very short section near downtown Fort Worth, multiplexed with I-35W and US-287.

I'll limit this to Interstates and US routes for now, as I didn't track all of my state route sections.

I-24: Only been on the concurrencies with I-40 and I-65
I-39: Haven't been on the short section by itself in Portage
I-57: Only been on the concurrencies with I-64 and I-70
I-68: Only been on the concurrency with US 40
I-69: Only been on the concurrency with I-94
I-72: Only been on the concurrency with I-55
I-85: Only been on the concurrencies with I-40 and I-75

US 31: Only been on the concurrency with I-465
US 36: Only been on the concurrencies with I-55 and I-465
US 61: Only been on the concurrencies with I-64, US 40 and US 67
US 421: Only been on the concurrencies with I-74 and I-465

I almost replied Interstate 39, but the OP clearly states "non-solo routes do not count"

Having lived in southern Illinois, it's funny for me to see so many people saying I-64, I-57, or I-24–because I've driven non-multiplexed segments of those highways many, many times.

This is actually proving to be rather difficult for me, which surprises me.

Ummmm....  CO-59.  Short overlaps seem to be the way to answers.

Ahhh damn, I missed his saying that. Here I was thinking I was clever. That's what I get for skimming

As someone that used to live in St Louis, those three would theoretically be some of the most traveled interstates. I-64 is a no-brainer, while I-57 and I-24 are needed for almost all travel to the southeast. Except I didn't travel to the southeast at all when I lived in St Louis, only started going to that region when I moved to Ohio, which the main routes there would be I-65, I-75 and I-77.

US 61 (US 151/WI 35)
US 63 (US 53)
WI 91 (WI 44)
MN 210 (I-94)

I excluded all Georgia US and Interstate routes because none of them are non-solo (signed and unsigned).

Same here. If anyone has any suggestions for how to break this down in a non-time-consuming manner, I'd be glad for it.

I almost had a really embarrassing answer: I-80
Fortunately, I've driven it several times in NJ and eastern PA, but that's it aside from the overlap with I-90.

I'll be on I-64 between Nashville/IL 127 and E St Louis/I-70 tomorrow to head up to Lambert/STL Airport for a Spring Break get-away!

I'm pretty sure I've been on non-multiplexed segments of all Illinois Interstates that I have traveled on (and the only ones I haven't traveled are I-172 and I-180) except I-39 in Illinois, but that is because I-39 doesn't have a non-multiplexed segment in IL!

I-80 is so close for me. The only segment by itself I've been on is between the I-76/80 bump and its eastern terminus, and I've only been on it once. Had my dad drive that route on one of my trips to NYC only because I'm bored of the normal I-70/78 routing from where I am.

The one section of I-80 I've been on more than once is completely duplexed with I-94: the section between the I-94/294/394 and I-65 interchanges south of Chicago.

There may be a section of I-80 in the Bay Area I've been on but don't remember.

I've been on I-90 more than I-80, mainly because the alignment of it works in my location's favor. It goes NE of Ohio, making it the main route to Upstate NY and Massachusetts for almost all of the state.

A short but not thorough list:

US 275: just the overlap with I-29
I-39: since most of it is US 51 (which I've driven on in Portage)
US 371: the section that's with US 71
US 460: just the part twinned with KY 11
US 201: seemingly part of every route in Augusta, Maine
US 141: the bit that's also US 41 and I-41

Travel Mapping makes this easier, I just looked at routes where I'd accomplished low clinch percentages.

Interstates: I-57 (I-64, I-70); I-294 (I-80); I-496 (US 127); I-530 (US 79); I-840 (I-73)
US Routes: US 3 (US 2), US 69 (US 287); US 95 (I-40, US 30); US 96 (US 287); US 151 (US 61); US 201 (US 202); US 259 (I-20); US 277 (US 87); US 371 (I-20); US 491 (US 64)

I'm sure I have some state routes with this condition but wouldn't care to try to figure them out...

US 90: I've only been on the section concurrent with I-10 in Houston.

US 93: I've only been on the section concurrent with I-15 in southern Nevada.

US 2: Only on I-90 in Spokane.

I-74: only on its concurrency with the Indy beltway

This is just the 2 digit Interstates and 2 digit US routes. And for states like GA with state route numbers for I- and US routes, I ignore those.

* I-59 (I-20)
* US 11 (I-20, I-81, US 460)
* US 15 (I-85, US 1, 401, 501, SC 9)
* US 21 (I-77)
* US 40 (I-295, NJ Turnpike)
* US 49 (I-20)
* US 51 (I-20)
* US 52 (I-85, US 1, 74)
* US 54 (I-40)
* US 59 (I-30)
* US 60 (I-10, -64)
* US 61 (I-20, -40, -55)
* US 62 (I-40)
* US 63 (I-40)
* US 65 (I-40)
* US 67 (I-30, -40)
* US 71 (I-20, -40)
* US 75 (I-40)
* US 79 (I-40, -55)
* US 85 (I-10)
* US 92 (US 17, 441)

US 70 is an interesting case - with the exception of a short segment coming off the I-95 interchange (in NC), US 70 would qualify as a route that I've never traveled non-multiplexed. I have been on US 70 concurrencies with I-10, I-30, I-55, US 19/23, I-240, I-85. I-85 Business, and I-40.

The only ones I can come up with, and maybe I simply don't remember going on other parts of these, are M-95 (concurrent with M-69) and M-48 (concurrent with both M-129 and H-63 Mackinaw Trail) in the UP.

It is quite likely that there are more.  During long-distance travels where I primarily stayed on the freeway, there very well might have been some routes that join the main thru road for a short while.

US 34 - only on the I-76 concurrency

US 71 - only on the I-40 and I-44 concurrencies
US 74 - only on the I-75, US 441, US 23, and I-40 concurrencies - though I don't know how official US 64 Truck in NC is, and whether or not that would disqualify the mile between US 23 and I-40
US 79 - only on the I-40 and I-55 concurrencies
US 81 - only on the US 14 concurrency
US 82 - only on the US 19 concurrency

US 264 - only the US 64 concurrency (which is stupid and should go away)
US 270 - only the I-40, OK 9, and I-30 concurrencies
US 280 - only the US 19 concurrency
US 281 - only the US 14 concurrency
US 310 - only the US 212 concurrency (which is stupid and should go away)
US 311 - only the I-40 and US 52 concurrencies
US 321 - only the US 441 and US 421 concurrencies

US 412 - only the I-244, I-44, and I-40 concurrencies
US 550 - only the US 160 concurrency
US 601 - only the I-85 concurrency

Notable almost-qualifiers:
I-65 - only on the I-40 and I-70 concurrencies, except for going one exit beyond I-70 in Indianapolis
US 21 - only on the US 17 concurrency, except for the very northern end between downtown Wytheville and I-81
US 70 - only on the US 84, I-30, I-55, I-26, I-40, I-85, US 29, I-85, and US 17 concurrencies, except for a few miles between I-85 and NC 86 in Hillsborough

I may attempt to figure out state routes another time.

For me to come up with a list, I'm looking only at "same-status" or "upward" concurrencies, i.e., I don't care that I-135 is also (mostly) US81 in Kansas.  I do care that US81 shares a concurrency with I-135, and if it were the only place I had been on US81 (which it's not), then it would be listed below.

Interstates
I-41 - Only the part concurrent with I-94

US Highways
US7 - Parts concurrent with I-84
US11 - Parts concurrent with I-59, I-20, and I-75
US15 - Parts concurrent with I-95, US52, US401, and I-85
US19 - Parts concurrent with I-275, I-95, and I-376
US21 - Parts concurrent with I-77, US76, US176, and US321
US22 - Parts concurrent with I-78
US25 - Parts concurrent with I-26
US25W - Parts concurrent with I-75

There are a crapload of short concurrencies in Kentucky for which I'm sure I have only been on those short concurrent portions while driving another route.

Of more significance, the only one that comes to mind is US 95 in Nevada, since I entered the state from Arizona via US 93 en route to Vegas.

Thought of a couple more state routes:
TX-256 – Only the portion overlapping TX-70.
TX-136 – Only the portion overlapping TX-207.

Ooh, and of course:
OK-3 – Only in the panhandle (where it's duplexed in its entirety) and the portion overlapping I-44 in OKC.

Surely some of you have used I-135 in Kansas, but never the lone half-mile that isn't multiplexed (south of 47th Street in Wichita)?

US 22 also makes the list for me now I'm thinking about it, and it's a weird one too. It's entirely concurrent with OH 3 south of Washington CH, including the Cincinnati metro, and I haven't been on US 22 east of Wilmington for Ohio. I've been on it in Pittsburgh, but only on parts concurrent with I-376. And the I-78 concurrency in eastern PA and NJ.

My list is fairly small:

Interstates:
I-69 (only been on it in Houston where it's multiplexed with US 59)
I-49 (only been on the section it shares with AR-151 in Texarkana)

US Routes:
US 69 (only the concurrency with 69/96/287 in Beaumont and the concurrency with US 59 in Lufkin)
US 96 (only the 69/96/287 concurrency)
US 287 (ditto as above)

State Routes:
TX-21 (concurrency with TX-71 in Bastrop)

Almost works:
I-20 (only been on its concurrency with I-55 and a tiny section between exit 614 and exit 617 in Texas)
US 84 (only been on its concurrency with US 59 in east Texas and this  400-foot section (https://www.google.com/maps/dir/31.9181013,-94.6801508/31.9179572,-94.6813493/@31.9179926,-94.6810112,190m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!4m1!3e2) in Mt Enterprise whilst turning out of the adjacent Whataburger.

I-25 (US 85), ABQ - Santa Fe.
I-70 (US 6, 50, 191), Green River Utah; (I-35, US 24, 40) KC-MO.

MO 110, apparently (I-35, KC-MO - Cameron)
IA 27 (I-35) MN - Clear Lake
I-39 (I-90, 94) Madison - Portage
NH 114 (WB 13) Sainthia - Bardhaman

I'm not going to attempt to find European examples...

I've been on it solo in a good chunk of northwestern Pennsylvania and near Provo, Utah as well as multiplexed on I-15 in Utah, I-70 in Colorado, US 209 across the Delaware River between Pennsylvania and New York, and on I-84 in Connecticut.

For my list in the OP, I have to add I-71; I've only been on its concurrency with I-70 in Columbus, Ohio.

How much of Kentucky's highway system is in Travel Mapping, anyway?

We went 1.4 miles up KY 1373 to what's labeled as Stone Coal Fork Road on this map, then drove under the bridge and up the hill to get a view of the unopened highway and the "bridge to nowhere" as it existed at the time.

Now that OK-3 has been removed (is being removed? I think it was approved but the signs haven't changed) from much of Northwest Expressway, you kind of have to go out of your way to find a part of OK-3 that isn't concurrent with something else. Especially if you don't count 3W as part of 3.

I have never been on i 59 if it was not attached with i 20 or i 69* not connected with i 465.  as far as concurrent interstates go i think i may have been on all of the major 2di ones but 80/90 and 15/84 for at least an exit (but I have been on each of those as separate roads).

*- technically speaking i have been on the purchase and western kentucky parkways, but since those redesignated portions of i 69 are supposed to be connected to the currently existing i 69 and are not physically connected I'm not counting this concurrency.

I guess that is trivial since there are no segments of 865 that aren't concurrent with US 52.

I should have listed three highways in Wisconsin earlier.

1. The entirety of my travel on WI 29 is on the short overlap it has with WI 35 and WI 65 in River Falls.
2-3. WI 133 and WI 80 both overlap US 18 in SW Wisconsin.  There's also the section of WI 80 that overlaps WI 11 by Hazel Green.

US 69/US 96/US 287. Only ever been on the sections that are triplexed in Beaumont and the section that's concurrent with IH 10
Us 281— Only ever been on the sections that are concurrent with IH 37.

I was very confused reading this because those do not sound like NH town names, but then I saw the "AH" and Kolkata and realized you aren't talking about New Hampshire!
Heh

A few Indian states share abbreviations with US states or Canadian provinces - TN (Tamil Nadu), CT (Chhattisgarh), MN (Manipur), OR (Odisha), AR (Arunachal Pradesh), UT (Uttarakhand), NL (Nagaland), SK (Sikkim).

Why did all non-Interstates in the Indianapolis area get moved onto 465 anyway?

INDOT has been asking cities to take control of and maintain surface roads within their boundaries so they can focus more on interstates and rural highways. Since INDOT doesn't sign routes along roads they don't maintain, they rerouted all the routes onto 465.

In other cities where this has happened, such as South Bend, Peru and Vincennes, the cities left the old routes signed as Business routes, but Indy chose not to do that.

And then you have Fort Wayne where state roads 1, 3, and 37 all have separate segments on either side of town, IN-14 got truncated to I-69, US highways 30, 33, and 24 got routed around the city, IN-930 was placed on US-30's old alignment, and US-27 still goes through downtown.

Building my .list file for Travel Mapping, I'm finding dozens of these, because routes in Oklahoma tend not to simply cross. Since there's a grid of county roads, and adjoining towns aren't often on the same line of latitude and longitude, it makes sense to have the, say, N-S state highways follow an N-S gridline out of town, then jump to the gridline the next town is on by following an E-W state highway when they junction, instead of having a long diagonal section that doesn't follow the grid or having the state pick up a few miles of E-W county road so the state highway can shift its position in the grid.

Bear in mind it takes about 45-60 seconds to load the page; but once it's loaded, each route just takes about the same amount of time (1-2 seconds).

Only counting upward or equal overlaps - otherwise pretty much any route I've only seen in Georgia would go on here. (Thanks, useless state route concurrencies!)

It would appear I've traveled on an independent segment of every interstate I've been on. US highways are a different story:

US 36 (I-70 between I-225 and Peña Blvd in Denver)
US 42 (US 60 in Louisville)
US 49 (I-555 in Jonesboro AR)
US 52 (US 78 in North Charleston)
US 61 (I-55 in Memphis area)
US 62 (I-240 and I-35 in OKC, I-40 in eastern OK, US 63 in northern AR)
US 67 (US 84 in central TX, I-35E and I-30 in Dallas, I-30 and I-40 in Little Rock)
US 95 (I-80 and BL-80 in NV)
US 97 (I-82 and I-90 in central WA)
US 167 (I-30 and I-40 in Little Rock)
US 258 (US 64 in Tarboro NC)
US 266 (US 64 in Warner OK)
US 270 (I-40 through central OK)
US 277 (US 83/84 in Abilene)
US 283 (US 84 in and near Coleman TX)
US 301 (I-95 in NC)
US 377 (US 84 in Brownwood TX, I-30 and I-35W in Fort Worth)
US 380 (US 84 in Post TX)
US 395 (I-84 in northern OR, I-82 in OR and WA)
US 412 (US 56/64 in northeast NM and Boise City OK, US 64 west of Tulsa, I-244 twice in Tulsa, US 63 in northern AR)
US 441 (US 129 from Eatonton to I-20, US 129 again in Athens with others, US 23 in northeast GA)
US 521 (Alt US 17 in Georgetown SC)

Maybe US-141, but I'm can't remember for sure.

My current list as of today.  I decided to just repost the entire thing.

It's almost funny to see routes in Georgia listed in here, because there are quite a few that are impossible to remove from this list once they're there because they are entirely concurrent with US or other state routes.

Thankfully the OP covered this.  I attempted to make sure that the GA routes that I included had sections by themselves, but I could have easily put one in that should not be here.  (Having said that, GA 4 and GA 515 should not be included now I am relooking at it.)

QuoteNon-solo routes don't count.

This is probably cheating but I've only been on the segments of I-69 concurrent with US 59

US 275: just the overlap with I-29
US 371: the section that's with US 71
US 460: just the part twinned with KY 11
US 201: seemingly part of every route in Augusta, Maine

I-39: since most of it is US 51 (which I've driven on in Portage)
US 141: the bit that's also US 41 and I-41

Can add and subtract a few more...

US 89: concurrent sections with I-15 and US 6 in Utah
US 97: a small segment in Weed, California
US 166: see US 400
US 189: that with US 40 or I-80
US 276: short concurrent section with US 64
US 400: with US 166 in KS/MO and US 54 in Wichita
US 425: only with either US 65 or US84

There's probably a bunch of SRs but I can't find those right now.

QuoteWe went 1.4 miles up KY 1373 to what's labeled as Stone Coal Fork Road on this map, then drove under the bridge and up the hill to get a view of the unopened highway and the "bridge to nowhere" as it existed at the time.

https://www.bing.com/maps?osid=4eb397f4-b1f7-4157-b36c-80d5ed79f409&cp=37.321069~-82.346561&lvl=15&style=h&v=2&sV=2&form=S00027

I think that was why I did not count it in my list file.  The closest point on KY 1373 (https://travelmapping.net/hb/showroute.php?units=miles&u=markkos1992&r=ky.ky1373) is at RigForkRd.

QuoteHow much of Kentucky's highway system is in Travel Mapping, anyway?

All of it at this point. (https://travelmapping.net/hb/index.php?units=miles&u=markkos1992&sys=null&rg=KY)

It was all there as far back as 2015 when I set out to clinch all the highways in Jefferson County.

Interstate Highways:
I-70 (only ever been on portions concurrent with I-55 and I-71)
I-94 (only ever on the portion concurrent with I-80)
I-99 (only ever on the portion concurrent with US-15)
I don't feel like doing US Highways right now.
NY State Highways:
One that surprised me is NY 22. I've only been on it for a single block in Keeseville concurrent with NY 9N (and a wrong-way concurrency at that).
NY 812 (been on a couple different concurrent portions, but no independent portions.)
NY 36 (only the small concurrent part in Leicester)
All I can think of right now.

I added NC 99 to my previous post as I had omitted it.

Changes from my previous post after my recent trips:

Routes Added:
NY 76 (NY 430)
OH 39 (US 30/OH 11)
PA 77 (PA 408, PA 89)
PA 198 (US 6/US 19)
PA 227 (PA 27)
PA 414 (PA 287)
PA 660 (PA 287)
PA 957 (PA 69)

Modified:
VA 151 (VA 56, VA 6)

Removed:
I-86 (E) (I technically debated about this one previously, but clinching the portion in PA ends any debate of it being on this list.)
NC 11
NC 11 BYP (Greenville)  (NC 11 would be removed if I was on it for more than just turning around south of NC 11 BYP.)
NC 33
NC 35
NC 92
NC 99
PA 8
PA 287
PA 653
VA 32
WV 39

Hmm, might as well update mine (new concurrencies in bold, strikethroughs for ones I've lost), since it seems to have gone up threefold.

QuoteNC 11 BYP (Greenville)  (NC 11 would be removed if I was on it for more than just turning around south of NC 11 BYP.)

I just realized that I followed NC 11 south of the OldNC11_Ayd point south of NC 11 BYP before turning around so yeah NC 11 should not be included at all on this list.

If you define "traveled" as "driven"
I-87 (NY) - only the portion concurrent with I-287
I-676 (PA-NJ) - only the portion concurrent with US 30 (I think, not 100% sure)

I'm pretty sure I've been on much of I-87 and I-676 as a passenger in a car and/or a school bus, though
