End-of-Year (or close to it) Odometer Readings

About 9,000 a year federal statistics (https://www.fhwa.dot.gov/ohim/onh00/bar8.htm) suggest a male in my age group drives about double that, 18K, on average). Numerous reasons why I have the numbers I have...no point in debating them at length, but figured I'd give it some context. Was hoping to get my car (2009 Elantra) to 100K, so that would get me through 2021 if all holds up.

EDIT: I should add that these figures are approximations, some more than other. I typically log mileage when service occurs. So if it was at 19K at the beginning of December and 21K at the end of January, I'd punch in 20K for that year's end.

Zero. The gas engine still does most of the work, with the electric motor just providing a power boost when needed, such as to supply low-end torque for which the undersized gas engine is woefully deficient. Unlike later Prius generations, my car's electric motor isn't powerful enough to move the car by itself, it only works in tandem with the gas engine (which also recharges the hybrid battery -- can't plug it into a charger or power outlet).

The hybrid battery is still going strong. Its longevity was something Prius owners worried about at first, since if the hybrid battery dies the car's performance goes into the toilet, and it might be time to junk the car. But no problems so far.
