If you're talking about the arrows, the ones they do use don't always line up well with the lane depending on your sight lines and how the road is laid out. I-70 eastbound has a number of signs like that. (Ones with regular arrows.)
I'm referring to these type of signs

The last example is imo what should've been done at I-670's eastern terminus, instead of the jumbled mess of separate signs per lane that is currently there.

ODOT isn't that frugal for money. But these really could have been better laid out or designed, with Exit 101 divided up into Exit 101 A and B with control cities added: https://maps.app.goo.gl/bY4vpmwPST4eNCri8

And this is a complete disaster: https://maps.app.goo.gl/LfrdyAs5FDacCXUU9

I don't particularly care for the way they do those signs in most instances. Way too much visual clutter. I also don't care for those exit lanes shared with a through lane. It just confuses everybody.

This is just too many signs to process at once.

No. The signage for I-670/US 62 along I-270 NB is more of a disaster than what ODOT did for I-71 NB at Polaris.

I give them credit for that solid break line between Johnstown Road and US 62 / Gahanna. But it always bugged me that they didn't put Johnstown Road first, like it used to be before they changed the signs. Other hand, this, bugs the hell out of me every time I drive through there.

In fairness, not much else you can do, but on a freeway where three lanes might be going to the same place, having three different signs is a bit much

And this is what I mean about how a lot of the arrows don't line up with the lanes.

But in the last 3 years, ODOT (at least District 6) has gone all in on "chanelization" and that drivers are too stupid to think ahead. Thus a sign for each lane, with more clutter than we would have imagined, just a decade ago.

Bad angle from the Google streetview photo. Having driven past that sign 3 times last week, it does line up with the lane.

I don't know about that. I think it's questionable when I drive through there. There wouldn't be a problem if they had made the Alum Creek Drive sign a little taller and narrower..

Another spot for sign clutter is I-270 WB approaching US 23 & Oh 315. I wish they would combined some of those signs onto single overhead gantries instead of constantly coming one after another.

They could use one panel for sure on both with a vertical line partition and one Exit tab for both still maintaining lane control.

I am not a fan of the split they did here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/xqk6hMQgufkYpwcQ7

The curve is sharper than it looks and even going at 70 MPH, it will throw you off. Why did they think that splitting mainline traffic into two would resolve the braiding issue long-term?

I don't know all the terminology, but I like that term channelization a couple of posts above. I don't mind the way they did that Easton mass, but I agree the curve is sharp, and I don't really like that idea they have of channelizing and cutting the main line down to two lanes. The curves are also sharp coming from the other direction, from i-670 going eastbound. They tried to cram what they were doing into too tight of a space. Staying on the main line gives me a claustrophobic feeling.

It wasn't so much the panel I was complaining about, but the exit only signs that were installed the wrong way. If you'll notice, going westbound, the exit only sign is too small. Going eastbound it's too large. They obviously need to be flipped.

I tried that curve last week. You're right, it is off-settling at 70 MPH.
And yes, ODOT thought it would resolve braiding between 670 & Easton. (though it makes 270 NB feel extra wide past there now)

It makes sense except for cutting the main line down to two lanes. But ODOT has a fetish for doing that. I can't stand when they do that. They cause more bottlenecks with that way of doing things than anything else. The curves are definitely too sharp, but the rest of it I think was well thought out.

"Easton mass" is just an obvious typo.  Easton Way is an exit along the section of I-270 being discussed.
