My folks moved around a lot when I was little so I don't remember every single county, but I know most of them:

Wayne, MI
Northampton, VA (where I was born)
Cumberland, VA
ShittPittsylvania, VA
Wayne, NC (where I grew up)
Duplin, NC

If you count school, then 4 counties.  If not, then only 2.

I've traveled around a bit, but only ever lived in Monroe County, NY. Wayne County is close enough that I visit probably close to weekly on average, and I even fuel up there quite regularly, but I've never resided there.

I've lived in five counties if I count my time away at college and law school and the three months I spent working in Alabama between my second and third years of law school. If I don't count the Alabama stint, then four counties (in three states).

"That sounded stupid, didn't it?"

We've had this thread before.

My response at that link is still current, except I have since changed my tune about not wanting to relocate.

For those who don't want to click and read, the three counties I have lived in to date are:
Bronx, NY (1987-1990, 2005-2009)
Fairfield, CT (1990-2005, 2009-2011)
Queens, NY (2011-present)
If you always take the same road, you will never see anything new.

MantyMadTown

Just two. Manitowoc County and Dane County, both in Wisconsin.

I like the analysis that you provided in that thread, Duke. But I think that people in general stick close to home unless they're part of the creative class or academe.

Just curious, what was it about coal country that you found appealing?

I'm not sure where I'd like to move, if I were to move out of my neck of the woods, but I enjoy trips to northern New England and this spring's jaunt to Gettysburg. My main question is: how would I support my wife and myself? I can't afford menial employment and I think I'm too much of an organization man despite my independent streak.
