Cars banned as Rome moves to protect Coliseum

Just happened to see this in my RSS feed reader this afternoon and thought I'd post it here for you guys to see.

I wonder what this will do to traffic patterns. Rome has one of the worst road networks of any European city, and this was one of the few roads in central Rome that is not a back alley.
