So, for a while, I've wanted to make highway timelapse videos, much like the ones that Freewayjim and others have made. These provide me with great entertainment and I want to provide many other roadgeeks with the same. So, here's my first road video, of I-5 in Snohomish County between Lynnwood and Marysville. Enjoy!
There's much more to come; I just need to edit them and get them on YouTube. I eventually want to post videos of me clinching every Washington state highway, as well as filming various other roadtrips. So stay tuned for much more...
That's really neat. I recall getting a few miles of I-5 in August 2011 going from the Seattle cruise terminal to the SeaTac Airport returning from an Alaskan cruise.

Thanks! The view from I-5 NB coming into downtown Seattle is quite spectacular.
Here's my second highway video, showing the Alaskan Way Viaduct. Enjoy!
Finally uploaded another video to YouTube showing I-90 between Seattle and Bellevue, filmed in both directions on April 21st, 2017. This was filmed a couple months before the express lanes permanently closed on I-90. (I didn't get to drive in them, because I was the only person in the car, and the express lanes are HOV only :( ) Anyway, enjoy!

Nice vid! Got me to thinking: I-90 routes through tunnels within a mile or two of BOTH its terminae: the Mercer Island Tunnel here, and the Ted Williams Tunnel near Logan Airport at the Boston end (thank you, Big Dig). Wonder how many mainline Interstates can boast that!
Nice choice of music for your videos! Especially the classic Van Halen hit Jump for I-90, as they would later influence the forthcoming grunge bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam.
I finally have uploaded another highway video. This time, I present to you US 2 eastbound over Stevens Pass. I filmed it last fall, and I also filmed in the westbound direction, and will be posting a video of that within a week or so. Enjoy!
I uploaded a video almost two weeks ago of US 2 westbound over Stevens Pass but forgot to post it here. In case you haven't seen it yet, I am posting it here:
I will have some new videos coming out within the next week!
Here's something a little different: a tour I did on board one of the ferries on Puget Sound, the
Hyak. I mean...it sort of is about highways, given that the ferry routes are part of the state's highway system. Anyway, enjoy!
Okay, here's one that's actually a highway video. This was filmed on the way to Deception Pass, which is a narrow passage with fast flowing tidal current at the north end of Whidbey Island near Seattle. Deception Pass will be shown in a future video, but this was filmed as part of that day trip. Towards the end of this video is the Skagit River Bridge, part of which collapsed in 2013 after being hit by an overheight truck. Anyway, enjoy the video!
Okay, I've just uploaded another video, this time of me driving to Deception Pass. Enjoy!
Aaaand...another one!
Today, we are driving south on Whidbey Island on WB SR 20 from Deception Pass to the SR 525 junction south of Coupeville. As always, enjoy the video!
Hello, today we continue our drive down Whidbey Island on SR 525. We then cross the ferry from Clinton to Mukilteo and continue south until we reach SR 525's terminus at Swamp Creek Interchange where it meets I-5 and I-405. Enjoy the video!
Here's a freeway video--this time, on WA SR 16 westbound. This video includes the drive over Tacoma Narrows Bridge, as well as some footage of the never-ending construction on I-5 in Tacoma. Enjoy!
Just uploaded another video to YouTube, this time showing the entire route of WA 304, including the ferry route from Bremerton to Seattle. Enjoy!
I have just uploaded my first of a series of videos featuring the North Cascades Highway (SR 20). This video covers the beautiful scenery from Newhalem to Diablo Lake. I've been looking forward to showing this one for quite some time, so I hope you will all enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed filming and editing it. Enjoy the video!
I think this is my best video yet. It is a continuation of the last video, showing the drive from the Diablo Lake viewpoint to Washington Pass. Even though I've watched it a bunch of times, I still enjoy all the beautiful scenery, and I know you will too. Enjoy the video!
Here's another video guys. This time, I'm continuing my journey on the North Cascades Highway east from Washington Pass to Winthrop. I did a bit of extra editing to the video to synchronize the speed of the video with the tempo of the music. I hope you'll enjoy how it turned out as much as I did.
I just uploaded another YouTube video. This time I drove on SR 20 over Loup Loup Pass between Twisp and Okanogan. Yes, it is yet another mountain video, (I hope nobody tires of these) but given that I'm in Eastern Washington the landscape is much different--less trees, more brown grass, and more open skies. So enjoy, and I'd love to hear what you guys think about my video!
I've finally uploaded another YouTube video. This one shows the drive across Sherman Pass eastbound on State Route 20 in eastern Washington. Enjoy!
And here's another YouTube video: this time I have filmed the Alaskan Way Viaduct, which has now become historical footage now that the viaduct is closed with demolition now beginning on it. I also filmed the Alaskan Way surface street to give you all an idea of what the waterfront looks like right now with a big ugly viaduct. Finally, there is some footage from me walking inside the new tunnel on February 2nd as part of the grand opening celebration. Enjoy!
I just drove through the new tunnel on Sunday morning, and here's the video I got. Enjoy!
Good work on this video. I was interested in seeing this new highway. Thanks for sharing.
I have now just uploaded another video, this time of another fairly new freeway: the North Spokane Corridor, signed as Future US 395, and located just north of Spokane, Washington. Enjoy the video!
Yesterday I uploaded another video, this time of I-90 westbound over Snoqualmie Pass. This video highlights the reconstruction work that WSDOT has been doing on that part of I-90. Enjoy!
Just uploaded another video yesterday. This features US 2 again, except in the early spring instead of fall. The scenery looks a bit different because there is still lots of snow on the mountains. Enjoy!
I totally forgot to post my video that I uploaded almost a month ago showing a tour through the Bavarian themed town of Leavenworth. Here it is, the first video produced on my new computer:
And here's a video I just uploaded, showing the drive over Snoqualmie Pass on I-90 Eastbound:
Hope you enjoyed both of my videos! I will have many, many more after I'm done with the roadtrip that I announced in my most recent video.
Here's a couple more videos I've uploaded recently to my channel. They are both videos of I-5 through Seattle, the first being I-5 southbound through Seattle, and the second being the I-5 express lanes.
Hope you enjoyed these videos! I'll be starting to work on uploading my videos from my roadtrip after these ones (I just wanted to put up a bit more content from Seattle, first).
Here's a preview video of the roadtrip I went on this summer. I will soon be working on the actual full videos from the roadtrip, of which there will be many. Enjoy the video!
Hi, so I completely forgot to post a video I uploaded 3 weeks ago that was the first video I did on my roadtrip. It's of the drive on I-5 southbound thru Portland, as well as the clinching of I-405 in downtown Portland. Enjoy!
And here's a video I just uploaded yesterday showing the drive on US 101 down the central Oregon coast from Lincoln City to Heceta Head just north of Florence. This is the longest video I've made but I encourage you to watch it all because some of the best scenery is towards the end of the video. Once again, enjoy and thanks for watching!
Here's my two most recent videos from the Oregon Coast. The first one was uploaded about a week ago and shows the drive from Heceta Head to Coos Bay.
And here's one I just uploaded a few hours ago, showing the drive along the most scenic part of the Oregon Coast, from Cape Blanco to Brookings. This was my favorite part of the Oregon Coast:
And now, I've finally made it into California on my roadtrip! In this video, I'm heading south on US 101 from Crescent City to Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park. Along the way, we pass through the redwoods and a bit of coastline. Hope you enjoy this video!
Here's the second video of the Redwoods that I uploaded a few days ago, showing the Newton B. Drury Scenic Parkway through the Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park.
And now...my third and final video of the redwoods! I'm driving south on the Avenue of the Giants (CA 254) thru Humboldt Redwoods State Park. I also have some footage at the end of this video of the Chandelier Drive-Thru Tree. Enjoy!
EDIT: I re-uploaded the video because in the original video, the first two songs got blocked for copyright reasons.
Here's my next video. This time, I'm on CA 1 near its northern terminus heading out to the coast on this very twisty road. Enjoy the video!
Finally uploaded my next video. This one continues south on CA 1 along the coast of Northern California, showing the most scenic parts:
Enjoy!
Another YouTube video uploaded; this time we're getting closer to San Francisco, driving on CA 1 in Marin County. Unfortunately there's no music (no thanks to YouTube's annoyingly inconsistent copyright policies, where a test video with just the music I want to use in my video uploads with no problems, but putting the music in the actual video causes the video to get blocked by YouTube), but the scenery is still worth seeing. Regardless, I hope you enjoy my video!
I've totally been forgetting to update this. I've posted several videos in the San Francisco area over the past couple of months. Here's the latest one:
You can see more videos on my channel, and be sure to subscribe so you don't miss any, because clearly I've been forgetting to post them on here. Check out my channel here: https://www.youtube.com/c/compdude100
Hello,
Today I'm back with another video: this time from US 101 along the coast to Ventura. This is the one of the few parts of US 101 in California that actually follows the coastline. Enjoy!
Here's a video from Seattle showing Alaskan Way without the viaduct:
Here's another video, this time of CA 1, aka the PCH, southbound (eastbound?) between Oxnard and Santa Monica. As always, enjoy!
Here's two of my latest videos. I uploaded this one a few days ago, showing the empty streets of Seattle in April during the coronavirus lockdown:
Just uploaded this one now, showing I-405 south in Los Angeles at dusk:
Enjoy!
Just uploaded another video showing the drive on the freeways from Garden Grove to LA. This follows CA 22 WB to I-405 NB, then north on I-605 to I-5 NB, then into LA, ending just past the East LA interchange. Enjoy!
I like your intro.
Quote from: thspfc on August 17, 2020, 08:53:54 PMI like your intro.
Thanks!
Just realized I forgot to post the video I uploaded last week that shows I-110 in LA. There's a reason I called this "The Ultimate Los Angeles Freeway Video." Enjoy!
And here's a video I uploaded just now, showing I-5 southbound through Tacoma, where the construction never ends. This video highlights all the construction on this stretch of I-5.
Hello again,
Here's another video, this time showing I-15 NB in Southern California over Cajon Pass and through the Mojave Desert. Hope you all enjoy this video!!
Here's my 2020 roadtrip finale: CA 1 South through the Big Sur. Yes, one of the songs is unfortunately muted due to copyright issues, but I'm still really happy with how it turned out. I hope you enjoy it too!
Just uploaded a video showing the West Seattle Bridge from May 2019, ten months before it was closed. Enjoy!
Here's another video that's a continuation of the previous one, showing some of the streets along Puget Sound near Alki Point in West Seattle. Enjoy!
Just finally uploaded another video from a different part of the country: Atlanta, Georgia! This video shows the drive northbound on I-75/I-85 into downtown Atlanta and then a tour on the streets of downtown, ending at the Georgia State Capitol building. Enjoy!
Okay, here's my latest video that I'm finally finished with. This features the drive in and around Savannah, GA. Enjoy!
Hopefully my next video won't take so long to edit. :)
I've now uploaded another video in Columbia, SC. It features a drive through downtown and then leaving the city on I-126 and I-26. Enjoy!
Just uploaded another video from the South. This time, I'm heading north on US 25 north of Greenville, SC into the Appalachian Mountains towards Asheville, NC. Enjoy!
I've just now uploaded a video featuring the Blue Ridge Parkway. This video features the stretch between Asheville and the summit of Mount Mitchell, the highest point east of the Mississippi. Enjoy!
EDIT: And here's the second part of my drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway that I totally forgot to post here (didn't realize it until I went and fixed all the URLs thanks to the new forum software). It features the drive down Mount Mitchell and east on the Blue Ridge Parkway to NC 80, aka the Devil's Whip, which is a very winding stretch of road. Enjoy!
I'm finally finished with my last video that I filmed in 2019! This one features several highways in Western NC through the Appalachian Mountains, from Asheville to north Georgia. Enjoy the awesome scenery!!
I'm back in Washington now, with a video showing US 101 northbound along Hood Canal, from Shelton to Quilcene. Enjoy!!

Finally posted my first video from my October 2020 roadtrip, showing a night drive on I-5 and I-84 in Portland, Oregon. Enjoy!
Just uploaded another video showing me driving through Eugene, OR. Enjoy!
Uploaded this video about a week and a half ago and forgot to post it here. Here it is, my video of I-5 through the mountains of Southern Oregon.
Here's my two most recent videos. I uploaded the first one a little over a month ago. It shows the drive on I-5 southbound over Siskiyou Summit and into California, ending with a great view of Mount Shasta.
And I just uploaded this one, showing the drive further south from there between Yreka and just north of Redding. Enjoy!
Here's my latest video, showing the Bay Bridge and downtown San Francisco at night. Enjoy!!
This one is a celebration of 5 years (and one month) of making road videos! I'm back on the stretch of I-5 that I filmed in my first road video between Lynnwood and Marysville, WA. This covers that same stretch of road, but continues north on I-5 all the way to Bellingham. Enjoy, and thanks for watching all my videos over these past 5 years!
Here's my latest road video, featuring I-80 west over the Bay Bridge into San Francisco. Also features US 101 south and CA 92 west to I-280. Enjoy!

This shows the drive on AZ 64 north from Tusayan, AZ to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, and after visiting several viewpoints there, I then drove through the Grand Canyon Village.
Alright, here is my first video in Los Angeles from 2020. This time, I'm driving on various freeways in and around LA at night. Unfortunately, there were some copyright issues (I go into more detail on this in the video) so a couple songs have been muted. But I hope you all enjoy it regardless!
Here's my latest video from LA! I'm driving on the 110 during the day this time. Features the stack interchange between I-110 and I-105, the new bridge in the Port of Long Beach (the Long Beach International Gateway), as well as parts of I-710, I-105, and a little bit of I-605 and I-5 to finish off the video. Enjoy this updated version of the ultimate LA freeway video!!
Today I bring you another video from LA; this time I'm clinching the infamous I-405 going northbound. Luckily, I didn't get stuck in traffic at all! Enjoy!
I forgot to post a video I uploaded several weeks ago from LA, featuring both I-210 (appropriately named the Foothill Freeway) east and CA 2 south going into LA. These are some of the most scenic freeways in the LA metro area.
