That has to be the most creative and interesting way to reach the quotient that I've seen yet!^

would it be okay to do something like 394/(160/80) = 197 for the next post?

Personally I would say yes. The OP says "same rules as multiplication game", that game says "same rules as 1-2-3 addition challenge", and that game says you can use multiple numbers. :D

I'm thinking the question is not so much about using multiple numbers, but adding the parens to change the order of operations.  Personally, I think the more creative the better, so go for it (but I don't make the rules here).

Admittedly, I saved it up until I remembered to use it!

I'm fine with using parenthesis make the division work, we're going to start running out of choices other than (quotient/1) or (quotient/half).

I don't post much in these photo challenge game threads, but do follow along with most. As a casual observer of these math-related threads, the use of parentheses or unusual numbers to arrive at the desired number is always a bit more interesting and should be encouraged.

Apologies for being pedantic, but the quotient is actually the answer in a division operation:  numerator / denominator = quotient

Yeah, you're right.

I couldn't recall the order of the other parts of the equation, but I also wanted to emphasize that there's a lot of times I've had to go with "desired number" (being the quotient) just divided by one, to move things along.

I suppose the Multiplication Game thread gets the same way with prime numbers; heck, just finding the 311 and a 1 was tricky enough (couldn't find a 622 and one-half photo).
