Where is the "I don't have any reason to participate in the topic at hand, but the discourse seems civil" option?

probably fits under "I can take it or leave it".

I am not sick of it (yet), but I am trying to ration answers and in general be reasonable.  I know many of the participants from MTR and the viewpoints they have expressed are completely consistent with my expectations based on MTR.  I personally would hate to see the AARoads forum become a mini-MTR.  But what really bothers me about this particular thread is that several participants seem to be advocating flat-out cruelty, and there is only so much of that that I am willing to excuse on the basis of limited experience of actually being a focus of law enforcement activity.
