Now you know what I'm in for with Part 3 or 4 of the US 466 Legacy Series.  Drawing historic alignment maps for the Creston/Atascadero area is going to be time consuming.

The really crazy part too is how just about 90% of pre-1956 US 466 west of Shandon does exist, but probably 20% of that isn't even accessible, with at least 2 different undriveable alignments (Acacia Road bridge, Rocky Canyon Trail) within 3 miles of US 101 and a third just north of Creston!

It has a unique distinction where the actual corridor continues to exist as it has for decades, BUT with the caveat that it was decommissioned right as bypass routes were being built (i.e. how much of the modern Route 58 between Bakersfield and Barstow was never US 466, and for that matter, neither was post-1964 Route 41 between Little Farm Road and US 101).
