I almost wonder if TDOT's just forgotten about it, given how inconsistently it can be signed (including having a mix of primary and secondary shields, IIRC).
It's all fun & games until someone summons Cthulhu and brings about the end of the world.

I also collect traffic lights, road signs, fans, and railroad crossing equipment.

We're getting pretty close to being completely faded on this sign. MD-214 just east of I-95/495. No recent pics, but I drove by recently and its pretty bad.

The original sign was actually a brown background.  The wear and tear has turned this sign into a weird green/brown color and does make the writing a bit hard to see.
