Quote from: Molandfreak on April 18, 2025, 08:01:51 PMLikewise, there was an attempt to reboot The Man From U.N.C.L.E. in 2015, but nothing really came from it since the film ended up being a box-office bomb.

It's on my list of ideas for guys' movie night.  Are you saying it's not worth watching?

I'm surprised Texas hasn't already done their portion, they're moving super fast with 69 and 2, haven't seen any progress on 49. They could finish that in 1 quick project.

Traffic Control / Re: HAWK Thread

I thought of this thread the other day, because this pedestrian signal is now completely dark, yet also not covered up.  Legally, should all traffic stop all the time now?

Quote from: Takumi on April 20, 2025, 10:45:26 PMDid you ever hear back from Richmond about VA 315 and 399? As of tonight they remain unposted.

Eastbound Broad at Belvedere has a "TO EAST VA 33" trailblazer turning onto northbound Belvedere.

Haven't heard about 315 or 399 yet, not exactly getting my hopes up with it. The VA 33 trailblazer is brand new, there had been a US 33 shield there for quite a while.

I put in a few more requests last week - VA 197's turn from Saunders to Laburnum is no longer posted after some signs got knocked over a while ago, and there is also no signage for I-195 or I-64 at that intersection. I also requested signage for the VA 6 transition from Patterson to Kensington, as well as missing signage at the southern end of the VA 10/VA 161 concurrency.

Speaking of VA 161, southbound VA 161 approaching US 360 was erroneously signed as northbound VA 161 for several years and that has now been corrected.

GSV has been updating in parts of Richmond recently (there's a bunch of new content in South Richmond from March and April 2025), which is saving me a lot of trouble and seemingly aimless driving. :-D

I think owners should hire people who know how to run the team, give them resources and set them loose. And the problem with Reinsdorf is that he IS too involved. He hires insiders all the time and always fires them a season or two too late. The fact the White Sox have hired from within for their last two GM positions is an absolute joke. And there is no reason why Billy Donovan should still be coaching that team.

Quote from: vdeane on April 18, 2025, 09:57:17 PMI don't know why, but nearly every time I see a car with Québec plates it's being driven by an older man, so seeing one driven by a young woman made me do a double-take.  It's especially unusual these days given how much Canadian travel to the US has dropped in recent months (and was never especially common on the I-90 parts of the Thruway).

No, it's more like...

Quote from: J.R.R. Tolkien — The War of the Jewels, 'The Later Quenta Silmarillion'Chapter 13, §5, p 205

The Naugrim Québécois were ever, as they still remain, short and squat in stature;  they were deep-breasted, strong in the arm, and stout in the leg, and their beards were long.  Indeed this strangeness they have that no Man nor Elf has ever seen a beardless Dwarf Québécois—unless he were shaven in mockery, and would then be more like to die of shame than of many other hurts that to us would seem more deadly.  For the Naugrim Québécois have beards from the beginning of their lives, male and female alike;  nor indeed can their womenkind be discerned by those of other race, be it in feature or in gait or in voice, ...

There are traffic cams all over the place. It is not like these are the only cameras out there.  BTW Louisiana has an exact system at Greenwood.

Off-Topic / Re: Dreams about this forum
Last post by kphoger - Today at 09:10:03 AM
I had a dream last night that the forum got a new look.  We had green again!  But, no, it was bad, bad, bad, bad, bad.

In my dream, it wasn't the main forum that I was looking at, but rather a long PM.  The text was now green on a white background.  But not a nice dark BGS shade of green.  Lime green.  And it was some quasi-cursive font like Segoe Script, except it was narrower like Script MT, and really super bold.  Like, so bold, it was ridiculous.  And there were no paragraph breaks—or maybe that's just the way the person had written the PM.  And the emoji all had extra-annoying movement, and they had zero space padding around them, so they butted right up against the words.

It was basically like a lime green Geocities page from 1998, but worse.

How dare they post a conceptual image of the bridge design instead of full construction plans.
