MoDOT contractors have started clearing out the ROW south of Harviell for the new 4 lane US-67 (Future I-57) highway to the Arkansas state line.

This is US-67 looking south, just south of Harviell. All the cleared trees and brush are burning in the background.

Further south in front of the Baptist Church where they built a new building farther back and the former church was demolished with just a foundation left. More trees to cut down in the foreground.

This is part of Phase 1B, which will take the work as far as County Road 338.

Yes, I am aware of that thread, but this one is specific to I-57 construction.

Since Arkansas has "I-49 Arkansas" and Texas has "I-69 Texas" and so forth, I decided to created a thread that is more in line with that naming scheme, to make it easier to locate and contribute.

Since the extension of Interstate 57 from its present terminus at Interstate 55 to where it will leave Missouri and enter Arkansas is about 78 miles, I estimate the future exit numbers on existing 57 will be numbered 78AB, 82, 90, and 92.

"from Sikeston to Poplar Bluff and from Poplar Bluff to the Arkansas State Line" is pretty specific to I-57.

I will say this thread can involve existing 57 between the Mississippi River and the 55/60/Future 57 Cloverleaf in Sikeston as well as the upgrades to 60 and 67 for Missouri's part of the 57 extension to Little Rock, so that is enough for a new thread I suppose

Or maybe we can merge it with the US 60/US 67 freeway thread, since it's all slated to become I-57, and rename the old one accordingly.

I requested a merge under the I-57 title to the moderator.

Does anyone know if Wikipedia is telling the truth about the exit numbers in Missouri having already been updated in anticipation for I-57 being extended past Sikeston? Or is that just some editor?
Just a casual.

The Wikipedia pages on highways are no longer maintained, as Wikipedia is in the process of deleting all of them. Do not use the Wikipedia pages on highways—nobody is watching them for errors.

The AARoads Wiki page for Interstate 57 does not show any change to the exit numbering.

Thread Bump!

Poplar Bluff's Chamber of Commerce posted 3 pics of new I-57 asphalt in place earlier today on facebook:

https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid02zmQq4dyGFRKFCMUXAehWRVMfwdRKLFeM2swoCHg8a7mxXoxv6iVkmqmM8Vr6cCZYl&id=100064541656615

I assume this is south of PB, since 2-lane 67 can be seen in the shots

Might have to run down there and get my own imagery

Looking at the latest sat images, they appear to be standing at County Road 360 with the southbound construction behind them.

MoDOT Southeast posted the following on their Facebook page this past week:

https://www.facebook.com/MoDOTSoutheast/posts/modot-plans-to-replace-three-bridges-on-us-route-67-in-butler-county-the-project/1472361517605837/

Also noted in local media:

https://www.kfvs12.com/2026/03/20/modot-replace-three-bridges-along-us-67-butler-county/

MoDOT plans to replace three bridges on U.S. Route 67 in Butler County.
The projects include:
✅ Replacing the U.S. 67 bridge over Harviell Ditch between County Road 340 and County Road 352. Prior to the start of construction, the new four-lane section of Future I-57 will be completed just south of this structure. During construction, existing U.S. 67 will be closed in the vicinity of the bridge. Travelers will utilize the upgraded section of U.S. 67 during this time.
✅ Replacing the U.S. 67 bridge over Hart Ditch, located south of Route MM/County Road 350. A temporary bypass will be constructed adjacent to the existing bridge during construction.
✅ Replacing the U.S. 67 bridge over Neelyville Ditch, located north of Route 142 near Neelyville, Missouri. A temporary bypass will be constructed adjacent to the existing bridge during construction.
Tentatively, the three bridges will be let in November 2026, with construction beginning as early as spring 2027. Construction will be underway for approximately four months at each structure.
Maps, plans, and other information prepared by the Missouri Department of Transportation will be available for public inspection and copying at MoDOT's Sikeston District office, 2675 N. Main St. in Sikeston, Missouri.

MoDOT seems to have some sort of storage or bandwidth problem on their website, because there's no reason that the PDF files shouldn't be available on the website. I also say that because I emailed an engineer working on the Improve I-70 project from Warrenton to Wentzville to ask if they were going to upload more detailed roll plots (they only have low-res JPG files online), and the response I got was, "We're dealing with some limitations in what we can post to our website that make it difficult to post higher-resolution files."
