It stinks even today that Bob Jenkins isn't here to reap the work he has greatly sewn in his life. NASCAR and the Hall of Fame committee put together the Squire-Hall Award which is granted to a media member, be it in radio, television, print or internet. Jenkins was selected for this award to go along with the now-formally inducted 2021 class that featured Red Farmer, the Mike Stefanik family and Dale, Jr. and the Landmark Award winner, Ralph Seagraves, who, in a sense, is the "father" of the Winston Cup era to bring attention to the sport.

I think NASCAR gets huge props for honoring Bob Jenkins with an award of which its title honors two other legends in NASCAR broadcasting, Ken Squire and Barney Hall. It comes full circle when you think of the Mount Rushmore of NASCAR broadcasters who told the greatest stories to be passed down through the ages: Jim McKay, Ken Squire, Bob Jenkins, Barney Hall. That's perhaps the smallest fraternity of announcers. Yes, Mike Joy is still around, but he's yet to hit legendary status.

You think of all sorts of drivers that Bob Jenkins featured in many telecasts. Quite frankly, him touting Jeff Gordon was his major Achilles heel.
Finally upgraded to Expressway after, what, seven or so years on this forum? Took a dadgum while, but, I made it!
