Both teams in the CFP championship were northern, both teams in the Super Bowl will be northern, and the "Gulf of America" (lol) coast is getting hit with a blizzard. Tough month to be a southerner.

QuoteLOL...seriously? How are you going to enforce a ban between an agent and a team?

Same way that player/team negotiation bans are enforced prior to free agency?

Ah. So in other words, it's unenforceable.

So what if it is? It wasn't me that thought this was needed in the first place.

I see the locations of Kansas City and Washington, DC as more central than northern.

Climate wise, Kansas City is much more northern/midwestern than DC.
Indiana: counties 100%, highways 100%
Illinois: counties 100%, highways 61%
Michigan: counties 100%, highways 56%
Wisconsin: counties 86%, highways 23%

If the only choices are northern and southern, culturally and climate-ly they're both clearly northern in my opinion.

Quote from: thspfc on January 21, 2025, 04:08:50 PMGlenn was also interviewing for other teams and the defense was a joke. ... the only other team to eviscerate the Lions like that all year was Buffalo.

Well, Glenn will get at least two more chances to scheme for the Bills as head coach of the Jets.  :)

Agreed for KC, but DC is more of a toss-up. DC often gets lumped in with the "East Coast megalopolis" and the federal government being there exacerbates that, but the area is otherwise very southern culturally. Both Maryland and Virginia have much more in common with the Deep South than they do with New England or the Midwest.

Yeah I agree with you; if your city's Wind Chill plunges to -27 degrees in one of your playoff games (last year vs Miami) and several fans suffered frostbite, your city definitely is not southern.  But then again, if you expect beach weather in January, then your location (mine actually) isn't really considered "southern" by most either.
We're so far south that we're not even considered "The South"

DC is definitely a border city.

Not too surprising since that's the #1 requirement of getting the job.

Sometimes I think about how unfortunate it is that an all-time great player's career can be mostly spent wasting away on a bad team. The entire Eagles organization, the entire city of Philadelphia, and most of all Saquon Barkley himself must be incredibly thankful that the Giants are a complete joke. Because their insistence on paying Daniel Jones instead led to him scoring 3 of his team's 7 rushing touchdowns in the NFC championship game, instead of taking a beating behind a horrible offensive line en route to another 4-13 season.

It is going to be a LONG decade-plus for the two teams in the NFC East that are ran by people who seriously should not be running a professional sports team. For the two with competent people in charge, well, the results have been pretty obvious this postseason.

Also add Jalen Hurts to the list of quarterbacks that are point blank better than Justin Herbert. You can't just throw out his performances in SB 57 and today. Games like that are the reason why you pay your quarterback so much. The Herbert truthers can have their "arm talent" if they want it.

thspfc

Adding onto my previous statement, in 2022, Dan Quinn was the Cowboys defensive coordinator, Kellen Moore was the Cowboys offensive coordinator, and Saquon Barkley was the Giants running back.

Better not hear the terms "point differential" or "one score game" ever again.

It becomes more tolerable when you realize it's not an accident or coincidence that the teams that win in the postseason are the "boring" ones.

I feel confident in this pick because of the likely matchups this is the one that people don't want to see. And the one that people don't want to see is usually the one that ends up happening.

The result of the AFC championship... is what it is. The better coached team with better players who made more plays won. No one else from the AFC has done anything this decade either aside from the surprise Bengals' run that yielded the only Super Bowl win by an NFC team not quarterbacked by Tom Brady in the Mahomes era.

However, one thing is clear and that is that the NFL has an officiating crisis on their hands. Three MASSIVE officiating failures (the Xavier worthy non-catch, the erroneous spot on Kincaid on 3rd & 3 that led to a failed 4th down, and the Allen 4th down that was incorrectly ruled short), and yes they were all in favor of the Chiefs but that's not the point, the point is that all three were completely wrong and all three were in massive, game-changing moments. You simply CANNOT say that the officiating did not have a massive game changing impact in that game.
